The Director of Youth Affairs, Ms Jatavia Howell, had the honor of attending and bringing remarks at the Youth Tribunal 2026 hosted by the Rotaract Club of Providenciales in collaboration with Open Thought TV.

The event featured a dynamic lineup of young leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, advocates, and visionaries engaging in a thought-provoking debate on the topic:

“Should the Turks and Caicos Islands Prioritize Controlling the Cost of Living over Rapid Economic Growth?” 🔥

This impactful initiative brought together youth from across Providenciales representing various youth organizations and the wider community, creating a valuable platform for dialogue, critical thinking, and civic engagement.

The Department of Youth Affairs commends the Rotaract Club of Providenciales and Open Thought TV for creating spaces where young people can openly discuss national issues that directly impact their future. Conversations like these are essential in empowering youth voices, promoting leadership development, and encouraging active participation in shaping the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands. 👏🏽

A rare clear moment over the turquoise edge of Providenciales—where the curve of Grace Bay meets the quiet stretch toward East. Captured by Zach from above, a view that feels both infinite and familiar.

I was told I was too young. Too bold. Too ambitious.
But I believed that from this small island, greatness could rise if only we could out work behind our dreams.

After a year of pushing through silence, setbacks, and sleepless nights — I’m proud to officially launch the Turks and Caicos Society of Young Leaders (TICSYL).

This isn’t just an organization.
It’s my heart poured into purpose.
It’s the cry of a generation refusing to wait their turn.
It’s the birth of a movement that says: we are the now, and we will shape the future. We are going beyond blue and yellow.

From humble beginnings to international boardrooms, every door I’ve walked through has prepared me to advocate and lead. For us. For change.

This is only the beginning.
And we’re just getting louder.

Thank you for standing with me @donniegardi @mrmissick_ !
