(Not an official AD - but def an official shout out!) 🚨 Congratulations @tia_fisher_writes for the forthcoming publication of your debut middle grade book - Operation Doodlebug and for it being featured in this weeks top picks in the @the.independent - chosen by @anna_bonet!

❤️ We love your book and we feel VERY strongly that KS2/3 teachers should look at introducing this book into their curriculums and definitely book their book collections in school!

❤️ It’s so good and really allows the reader to immerse themselves in that incredibly important moment in history!

❤️ Great work @tia_fisher_writes and @piccadilly.press

❤️ The amazing @lui.land is out on the road celebrating her latest book - Wildcat and The Gathering Storm and all we are hearing and seeing is mega excitement and reading buzz! 🤩 We have loved our recent online events with Lui and we know that all of the young people that are getting to listen to and meet @lui.land in person are super lucky and I’ll have the best days! ❤️ @lui.land and @macmillankidsuk have created two incredible books and we urge you to get them for your young readers and yourselves! 🫶🏽📚💥📚🫶🏽

Two weeks in and Little Reading Wins is already outgrowing its current platform! 😱

A very good problem to have… so we’re now looking at building something even more robust that can grow with LRW. And we would love to hear your thoughts about what issues you’re facing around reading engagement in schools, and how we might be able to help you solve them!

What’s one feature you’d love to see?

✨ A Day in the Life - Back to Work! ✨

Can’t believe we’re back to work after a glorious summer off! We all have very different days in school as deputy heads, KS2, KS3 and part time…so it’s interesting to see how they compare!

Which day looks the most like yours?

📚 Recommended book lists 📚

Not going to lie… I’m not a fan.

They’re generic, often downloaded straight from a Google search with very little thought given to the content, and the same list gets handed to every pupil in the year group.

Can we really expect all children to look at the same list and all enjoy the same books? Probably not. Because children don’t all enjoy the same things!

At Little Reading Wins, we’ve created an extensive book recommendation list that can be filtered by a child’s age and interests. This helps parents quickly find books that their child is really likely to enjoy, rather than handing them a list of 30 books and hoping for the best.

So teachers… what books have the children you’ve taught absolutely LOVED? Which ones have been requested again and again, or have caused arguments over who gets to read them next?

Tell us your favourites 👇 We’re always looking for more to add!

And authors - get in touch if you’d like us to consider your book to feature on the app!
