How much are you willing to suffer?

And how long can you withstand it?

That’s your threshold when you dive in or push off the wall. Everything below it is doable. Everything beyond it is unknown.

And that’s the unknown you’re constantly expanding into. #underwater #fitness #performance #water #workout

Three movements worth getting good at 👇

1️⃣ PULL-UPS — Build the width
A staple for growing your lats and creating that broader look. Use a full range of motion, keep the swinging out of it, and add weight when bodyweight reps become manageable.

2️⃣ CHEST-SUPPORTED DUMBBELL ROWS — Build the thickness
Lie face down on an incline bench and keep your chest planted as you row. Less momentum, more controlled work through your upper back. Don’t rush the lowering.

3️⃣ BARBELL ROWS — Build overall size and strength
Go heavy enough to challenge yourself, but not so heavy that every rep turns into a full-body heave. Brace, keep your torso steady, control the weight.

These movements overlap, but a solid foundation. shoulder development also contributes to that V-taper.

Stellar crew this Sunday, led by Coach Reuben, who put us through a mock ship wreck with a bucket-raising finale! We had several newcomers who are diving deep with us and finding out new things about themselves.

This week also marks week 5 of our 8 week Sunday Torpedo League, led by our fearless captains Rich, Reuben, River, and Zach. These teams keep getting better and the close matchups show our progress!

Just signed up for your first Ironman? Here are 5 things I’d buy first.

Triathlon can get expensive FAST, but you don’t need a $10,000 bike or every piece of fancy gear to start training.

Start with the basics: a bike, running shoes, goggles and swim gear, a tri suit, and a GPS watch.

Get the essentials first. You can always upgrade later.

First Responders 🤝 Stress Responders

Starting today, more than 60 cadets at @mcfa_sd began a 12-week training program to build composure, resilience, and calm under pressure. At the end, they’ll be put to the test and earn their certification as H2O Stress Responders.

Off to a great start for these future firefighters! #underwater #water #training #water #firefighters
