🏋️ FEATURE FRIDAY | TEAM ROHR 🏋️

This week, we’re spotlighting @teamrohr —a Georgia team helping lifters grow from their very first competition to the world stage!

Founded in 2007, Team Rohr trains locally at their home gym in Decatur and Quest Gym in Duluth. They also offer online programming and live virtual coaching for lifters worldwide.

Leading the team are head coach Josh Rohr, a USA Powerlifting International Level 3 Certified Coach and Coaching & Education Committee Chair, and assistant coach Wade Johnson, a National Level 2 Certified Coach and the 2024 USA Powerlifting Coach of the Year.

Their proudest accomplishments include:
🏆 Six Georgia State Team Titles: 2011, 2013, 2017, 2021, 2025 and 2026.
🏆 Team Rohr athletes swept 1st–3rd in the Female Masters Equipped Final at the 2023 Pro Series Finals, with another teammate winning the Female Masters Raw Final!

But when asked what makes their team special, their answer was simple:

“Our lifters and coaches are one family. We support and encourage each other.”

They welcome all experience levels, with a strong community of Masters and equipped lifters. Several athletes who started with them as complete beginners have gone on to become world champions.

Interested in joining? Visit teamrohr.com/get-started to complete their questionnaire and schedule a free Zoom consultation.

@usapowerlifting Southeast Regionals Meet recap.

8/9 lifts and probably my best overall meet yet.

🏋️ Squat: 225 kg / 496 lbs — PR
💪 Bench: 165 kg / 364 lbs
🔥 Deadlift: 270 kg / 595 lbs — PR

TOTAL: 660 kg / 1,455 lbs

🥇 1st in my age + weight class

But the one I’m most proud of…

🏆 BEST MASTERS LIFTER OF THE MEET 🏆

Really happy with how everything came together. Two PRs, 8/9 on the platform, and walking away with an award I definitely wasn’t expecting.

Still getting stronger. Still plenty more to chase.

Huge thanks to my coach @jrohr83, my @teamrohr teammates, my lifting partner and best handler @gwen_on_adventures and everyone who continues to support me along the way.

On to the next one. 💪

What happens in 2028, specifically for @usapowerlifting if the Arnold realizes they made a mistake and want to bring sports back? The focus has shifted to influencers and content, moving away from actual sports.

I just competed in my 3rd and final powerlifting meet of 2026 - the USAPL Southeast Regionals in Raleigh NC. Here are the results: M3 75kg 1st place, a meet total PR of 477.5 kg (1053 lbs), a meet bench press PR of 120 kg (265 lbs), 3 new age and weight class Georgia state records (squat, bench and total), and a Southeast Regional bench record for age and weight class. The records that I broke were my own records set back in June at Nationals.

The physical demands of training for this meet were tough, and I came close to pulling out. It was my 3rd competition in 8 months, and nearly 10 straight months of diet and intense weight training. I have learned over the past year that being 60 years old means having an entirely new and unfamiliar body. You have to learn anew how and when to use it, because it doesn't move, respond or recover quite the way the younger model did. I am very lucky to have Josh Rohr @teamrohr as my coach to help me on this journey.

I was determined to do this meet, however, because I wanted to get a competition legal squat of 182.5 kg (402 lbs). Unfortunately, I failed that squat, again. Yet, I am still glad that I didn't drop out. I would rather try, but fail, than give up on myself. I will be back next year, with 400 plus pounds on my back giving it a go, and I will keep doing it for as long as I am capable because I am stubborn that way.

I will finish this post by sharing how thankful I am to Michele for tolerating my obsession and enduring the experience of having a day watching sweaty people in singlets try to lift ridiculous weights in a building with no air conditioning when it is 90 degrees outside. She is a saint and I am lucky to be her husband.

You see the picture.
You know what time it is!!!!
Time for @justcallme_jenna and @teamrohr to hit the platforms and show everyone what she has been working so hard for.
Always proud and here to support my favorite lifter.
Now time to show everyone what all the blood, sweat, and extra protein powder was for.
By the way, @optimumnutrition do you have any tubs of vanilla or chocolate you want to send my way, lol.

What are the long-term aspirations in powerlifting? It's about competing as long as possible and being able to challenge yourself under the bar. The ultimate goal is to be as strong as you can, for as long as you can. #powerlifting #strengthtraining #fitnessgoals #lifelongstrength #athleticism

You trained for years, hit that qualifying total, and now you're considering not going because you fear finishing last? That's a missed opportunity to showcase your hard work and dedication. Elite status is earned by reaching the qualification, not just by winning. #Motivation #SportsMindset
