Take us back to October 2nd! 🧡

We’re still thinking about the massive celebration that was FORMATGG 2026.

Our 10 year anniversary was over a year in the making, and this year we took FORMATGG to Liverpool for one of our biggest celebrations yet.

The community came out in strength, and we’re incredibly grateful to every single person who joined us, supported us, exhibited with us, performed with us, partnered with us and helped make the day what it was.

From the moment the doors opened to the final moments of the night, you brought the energy, the atmosphere and the community spirit that makes FORMATGG what it is.

We’re taking a short break now to recover from what has been one hell of a year, but we’ll be back very soon with dates for our 2027 events.

And there are some big changes coming for the community.

We can’t wait to tell you what we’ve got planned.

Thank you for 10 years of FORMATGG.

The next chapter is coming ⌛

Ten years ago, FORMAT Group started with a simple belief:

The video games industry needed more places for people to come together.

Places to make connections. Build friendships. Create opportunities. Make memories. And, even if only for a few hours, forget about everything else going on in life.

From a small bar meetup in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, FORMAT Group has grown into an award winning events company bringing people together across the video games and technology industries.

Over the last decade, we’ve taken FORMAT Group events to Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton and beyond.

We’ve delivered events alongside some of the biggest names in the creative and technology industries. We’ve hosted TEDx conferences, RE:FORMAT summits, gaming socials and industry gatherings. We’ve welcomed incredible speakers, creators, studios, publishers and thousands upon thousands of members of our community.

We’ve raised money for causes close to our hearts, created opportunities for people to meet, collaborate and grow, and built spaces where people can simply come together and be themselves.

But beyond the events, the venues, the stages and the numbers, there’s something much more important.

Community! 👊

Every time someone walks through the doors of a FORMAT Group event and leaves having made a new connection, found a new opportunity, made a new friend or simply had an unforgettable night, we’re reminded of why we started all of this in the first place.

Because we believe events should be about more than just being in the same room.

They should give people a reason to connect.

And after ten years, that mission means more to us than ever.

To everyone who has attended a FORMAT event, exhibited with us, spoken on one of our stages, partnered with us, supported us, volunteered with us, worked alongside us or simply believed in what we were trying to build:

Thank you.

You’ve helped make FORMAT Group what it is today.

And this is only the beginning.

It’s time for change! 🧡

We have a big announcement coming soon.

Ten years ago, I had a dream.

And I was laughed at by my industry for having it.

I saw a lack of events within what I consider to be the greatest entertainment industry in the world: the video games industry.

I believed people needed somewhere to come together. Somewhere to make connections, build friendships, create opportunities, make memories and, for a few hours, forget about everything else going on in their lives.

From that mission, @format_group was born! 🧡

And over the last 10 years, this journey has allowed me to build a life that I could only have dreamed of back then.

We went from a small bar meetup in Manchester's NQ to becoming an award winning events company working for the video games and technology sectors.

We've hosted events in Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton and beyond.

We've been trusted with TEDx licences.

We've worked with some of the biggest brands in the creative and technology industries.

We've welcomed dozens of incredible speakers to our RE: FORMAT summits and @tedxnorthernquarter conference.

We've brought thousands upon thousands of people together.

We've raised countless funds for causes that mean so much to us.

But most importantly, we've created community conduits that have changed people's lives in ways I'll probably never know.

And that's why I do this.

Watching someone walk through the doors of one of our events, make a connection, make a friend, create a memory, embrace somebody they may never have met before, live completely in the moment and leave whatever problems they might be carrying at the door...

That's the greatest reward I could ever ask for.

To create spaces where people can simply be themselves is something I will never take for granted.

Because of this mission, I get to wake up every single day and do something I truly and utterly love.

It is by the grace of God that I'm even here to write these words.

I'm incredibly grateful that I've been given the opportunity to build a business that brings me so much joy, and meaning to others.

To everyone who joined us to celebrate 10 years of FORMAT Group, thank you.

I have something much bigger to announce soon.

It's time for change.

We did it! 🧡

10 years.

Last week, I delivered our largest event season to date as we celebrated 10 years of @format_group events by delivering our biggest FORMATGG: The Ultimate Gaming Social yet, alongside RE:FORMAT Games Industry Summit and FORMATGG After Hours.

Three days. Three venues. 1.6K attendees across 3 days. And more incredible moments than I can probably count.

And when I actually stop and think about how far we’ve come, it’s pretty difficult to put into words.

10 years ago, FORMAT was a group of underdogs meeting in bars around Manchester’s Northern Quarter, trying to build something we couldn’t find anywhere else.

We had no idea where it would go.
Since then, we’ve grown into one of the UK's leading award-winning events companies and a community that brings gamers, developers, studios, publishers, creators, investors, tech companies and friends together.

We’ve expanded to different cities. We’ve built events from the ground up. We’ve taken some big risks. We’ve worked with some of the world's biggest brands in gaming and tech. Pushed ourselves to achieve the impossible, but most importantly, loved every single moment of it.

Seeing hundreds of people come together, meet someone new, forge business connections, make memories, dance, laugh, create memories and simply enjoy being part of this industry was incredibly special.

To everyone who has supported FORMAT Group over the last 10 years, thank you.
Whether you’ve been there since the very beginning or walked through the doors for the first time this week, you’ve played a part in this story.

To our sponsors, friends, speakers, creators, exhibitors, performers, volunteers, suppliers and, most importantly, the incredible team behind the scenes, thank you.

I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you! 🧡

This year has been the biggest year in FORMAT Group and @tedxnorthernquarter history and has pushed me to become the very best version of myself possible, and now I'm taking some well earned time off to rest.

Then we go again!

Event videos and our 2027 dates will be revealed very soon.

WE DID IT!! 🧡

10 years.

Honestly, we're feeling all of the emotions right now.

This week, we celebrated 10 years of FORMAT Group events by delivering our biggest FORMATGG: The Ultimate Gaming Social yet, alongside RE:FORMAT Games Industry Summit and FORMATGG After Hours.

Three days. Three venues. Over 1500+ tickets across 3 days. So many incredible moments 🥹

And when we take a step back and actually think about how far we've come, it's pretty hard to articulate into words.

10 years ago, FORMAT was a group of underdogs meeting in bars around Manchester's Northern Quarter, trying to create an events movement we couldn't find anywhere else.

Since then, we've grown into a community that brings gamers, developers, studios, publishers, creators, investors, tech companies and friends together year on year.

We've travelled to different cities. We've built events. We've worked with gaming changing brands. We've changed the events game for the UK takes industry! 🔶

But most importantly, we've built something that belongs to the community.

And last week was a huge reminder of exactly why we started in the first place.

To see countless amounts people coming together, meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends, discovering games, dancing, laughing, creating memories and simply enjoying being part of this industry was incredibly special.

To everyone who has supported FORMAT over the last 10 years, whether you've been with us from the very beginning or walked through the doors for the first time last week, thank you.

To our partners, friends, speakers, creators, exhibitors, performers, volunteers, suppliers and the incredible team behind the scenes, thank you.

We genuinely could not have done this without you.

We're going to take a little bit of time now to breathe, recover and let everything sink in.

Then we'll be back.

FORMAT is the event where my heart fills with joy. Performing for you was such a pleasure, this community of nerds is SO special ♥️ Thank you so much everyone.

Times so wholesome that I had to actively remember to take photos and ask for videos. My brain 🧠 🤪 here’s a small photo/video dump of the three days spent with the best crowd.

Big shout out to the Whiterun guard for not arresting me after trying to steal their helmet. 👀

LOVE YOU GUYS! 💓
