December weather and a heart full of memories✨Our second memory mapping evening brought the invisible city on a paper.

Let us not just build, but own the spaces that sorround us.

Lahore has changed again. New developments, old corners gone, memories shifting before we can catch them.

Our first circle was a way to hold the city still for a moment to draw, to remember, to speak. But with everything that’s happened lately, we need to gather again.

If you’ve watched a street you love change, if you’ve lost a place that once felt like home, or if you simply want to pause and map the Lahore that lives inside you, this is for you.

Join the waitlist through the link in bio. Event details will be shared soon.

📍Happening at @suraj.ghar this December.

DNA is where creative minds unite! We're exploring how space, memory, and culture shape the way we live. A community not just for architects but anyone who’s ever felt a space hold a memory.

If you feel deeply and crave meaning, this is for you.

Think with us. Learn with us.
This is DNA.

Here’s to all the memories of Lahore that we carry in our heart. Call it development, urbanisation or just the natural course of time… places that no longer exist but are a significant part of our mental landscapes still have a place on DNA’s memory map! ✨

Semester 4 Elective : Kinetic Architecture

Architecture is all about the relationship between what we choose to conceal and reveal. Whether we want to let light through, or block it entirely. Or. We may choose to find middle ground, allowing for a bit of translucency.
These relationships are easy to achieve, when working with something that moves. Something that keeps the equation changing.
My work for this course focuses entirely on concealing and revealing. With a kinetic window, what you see between the frames constantly keeps changing. A singular rotational twist of the fingers, is the driving force behind a network of gears that move together to facilitate movement from one end to the other.
With four frames connected together at a time, what seems to be a singular movement, multiplies to work the entire thing. The windows, inspired by japanese patterns, come together to create channels for the movement of light.
This very simple, yet complex mechanism is the driving force behind the entire kinetic facade.

Fourth Year - Design Studio

Project: Transformative Power of Natural Illumination

Natural light has the power not only to shape spaces, but to define the experience within them. This student center is more than just a building—it embodies the emotional journey of learning and unlearning, guided by the interplay of light and darkness.

Located within the heart of BNU, the project reflects the time spent on campus and the stories it holds. From perforated to sharp and diffused, light here becomes a narrative element—showing how something as essential as light can symbolize both life and death.

The design centers on the idea of reconnecting with one’s lost purpose. Rather than remaining trapped in cycles, the space invites reflection, spiritual refinement, and meaningful interaction. It is envisioned as a place that nurtures a sense of community—one that inspires individuals to grow into better versions of themselves.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN COURSE - SEMESTER 7

— CONCEPT —
Baoli Bagh will be reimagined as a vibrant urban retreat that revives the historical essence of stepwells, inspired by the Sikh-era baolis and the communal spirit of chaupals.

At the heart of the site, the banyan tree will remain a focal point, enhanced as a gathering space with upgraded circular seating, reminiscent of chaupals where communities once assembled for storytelling, discussions, and social activities.

While not recreating deep stepwells, the design incorporates short steps and terraced seating, drawing inspiration from the layered architecture of traditional baolis. These elements promote a communal environment while honoring the site’s heritage.

It will act as a destination for both locals and tourists, celebrating Lahore’s cultural heritage while offering opportunities for relaxation, reflection, and informal gatherings.

The pathway leading to the banyan tree will symbolize a journey, enriched by landscaped zones and pauses, creating an immersive experience that seamlessly blends heritage with modern urban needs.
