The only goal I had set myself this summer was to see more sunsets

The blanks in-between the sunsets…
Well quite honestly, I made no plans

There are no exotic vacations waiting
Nor plane tickets to take me elsewhere

I’m just…home
In my little corner of the world

And every bit of that is intentional

And every bit of that makes me happy

To have a slow summer
To see people I love
To not rush through life

They aren’t exceptionally grand goals
But somehow I’ve come to notice
In one shape or another

The simple things have a way of making my days multiply

I’m a year older today
Writing this from the road somewhere in the United States, with Kona by my side

This birthday feels different
I celebrate it knowing that
I’ve closed the chapter on 50 states

Years worth of driving, planning
Most without anybody watching
It was just for me
From May 2017 to September 2021

And when I finally came back from Alaska
I went on this hike, about 4 months ago
I had no idea this picture was taken
Until I saw it last week
I saw it & I cried
I cried into the chocolate I was eating

“…That’s me…?”

That is me.

And in another life & another year
This would still be me
Most definitely not any wiser
But slowly earning my stripes

Have a happy & peaceful weekend

Canoeing Time!!
Is there anyone who hasn’t experienced #canoe yet? Trust me, you HAVE TO try it!!
There’s nothing like being out on the open water in the fresh air that can make you feel good about yourself. Just picture this. Taking out your car keys and driving to the nearest #waterway. Getting into a canoe and floating out onto the perfectly still water where you can clear your mind and nothing else matters anymore. Today I found 8 places that you will enjoy a perfect #calming #trip.

Don’t use “I’m too busy” as an excuse. Getting out on the water is simple and taking part in a gentle #paddle can last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Go to our link in bio to find out where is the closest canoe spot for you.
