Big Tech wants you to think data centers are paying their fair share for energy, water, and the impact they have on communities. @peterforgeorgia knows better.

In order to hold Big Tech and data center developers accountable, we must elect @peterforgeorgia @sheliaedwards4pscga so we can have a climate majority on the Public Service Commission, alongside @alicia4georgia.

Well… I guess it’s official. ❤️

I’m joining the Board of @compassionateatl !

But this doesn’t really feel like I’m joining something new. I’ve been hanging around these folks for a minute. 😂

I’ve hosted CompassionCon, shared microphones, shown up at gatherings, connected people, learned, laughed and taken WAY too many selfies along the way. Somewhere in there, this community became part of mine - especially my darling @iamiyaboofficial and @leannerubenstein whom are compassion in constant action.

And apparently I became known as “a party all by herself.” 😂 I’ll take it!

But compassion means something deeper to me, too.

UNESCO’s Constitution begins with a powerful idea: “Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed.”

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how that begins with ourselves.

How do we practice compassion with other people if we are constantly at war with ourselves?

Self-compassion. Grace. Listening. Connection. Showing up for one another. Choosing kindness even when it isn’t easy.

That’s the work. And this one feels right. ❤️

I’m excited to bring my ideas, my love of people and community, my loud laugh - and yes, apparently the party 😂 - to this next chapter with Compassionate Atlanta.

Fun Fact: I was voted Biggest Party Animal in my school superlatives.

✨ Find the joy. Tell the story.

💦 We had a SPLASHING good time at the Dive into DeKalb Back to School Pool Party & Resource Fair at N.H. Scott Pool yesterday!

Huge thanks to the incredible team at @dekalbparksrec for helping us put on this super fun event, and much appreciation to the many @dekalbcountyga departments who shared valuable info at their tables. We hope everyone had fun and got some good resources as we head back to school next week.

Also big thanks to Sgt Jenkins from @dekalbpal for being a good sport with our idea for this video 🤣

Happy Friday everybody! Hope you enjoy the last weekend of summer break.

🥰 THANK YOU DEKALB! You showed up and made a difference.

Today, the Board of Commissioners voted to defer Commissioner Terry’s resolution calling for a Health and Environmental study to be completed and reviewed before the DeKalb Data Center Moratorium can be lifted. This item will be in committee on 8/11 for discussion and back at the Board of Commissioners on 8/25.

Commissioner Terry believes this is a victory and a step in the right direction!

We are so grateful to the 100+ citizens who attended the Town Hall to speak out, share their thoughts and opinions, and ask tough questions. We are also thankful to those who made time today to attend the meeting and advocate for the Health & Environmental study in front of the Board of Commissioners.

Big thanks, also, to fellow Commissioners who came together to work on a solution in support of all DeKalb County residents.

Your voice matters, and your time and energy has made a difference. Thank you!

We’re so grateful for Commissioner @commissionertedterry ’s continued support and leadership in advancing regenerative landscapes across DeKalb County.🌼

What looks like a field of flowers is actually a living climate solution.

Together with DeKalb County, we're proving that climate action can be practical, measurable, and beautiful.

🌿 8 new native flower species introduced
🌎 9.24 acres of regenerative landscape maintained
🐝 More habitat for pollinators and biodiversity
🌱 Potential carbon offsets of 24.9 - 38.3 tCO₂e
✂️ Lower maintenance. Lower emissions. Greater long-term resilience.

This is what happens when public leadership invests in nature as infrastructure.
And we're just getting started.

If you're a city, municipality, or public agency looking to build cooler, healthier, more resilient communities while reducing long-term maintenance costs, we'd love to partner with you.

Let's grow the future together.

“It might seem like good news, but it’s actually a sham.”

Commissioner Ted Terry was the sole dissenting vote on the extension of a data center moratorium today.

🤔 Why? Because it doesn’t facilitate a truly impartial outside health & environmental study, instead allowing an internal review.

Hear directly from Commissioner Terry on why we still need to push forward and advocate for the Board’s adoption of his resolution for a truly independent health & environmental study, and fund that study, during the Board of Commissioners meeting next week.

Don’t miss these dates:

💬 Join us for a Data Center Town Hall
Monday, July 13, 6pm
@ Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center

🗣️ Speak out during the next Board of Commissioners Meeting
Tuesday, July 14, 9am
@ 178 Sams Street, Decatur
