A little sneak peek from the TEDx stage! ❤️

For artists and creatives, this is a conversation I’ve wanted to bring into the room for a long time.

Months of preparation, a whole lot of nerves, and 14½ minutes on that stage.

I can’t wait for you to experience the full talk when it’s released.

Until then, here’s a little glimpse of the day. ✨

The week after stepping off the TEDx stage…no words 🫠

I’ve spent much of my life performing, but this stretched me in a completely different way.

Months of preparation. Fourteen and a half minutes on stage. And a whole lot of nerves, courage and emotion.

Sometimes the moments that look incredible from the outside take more out of us than anyone realises.

I’m proud I did it. And I’m still taking it all in. ❤️

For every artist and creative facing something that scares you a little: courage doesn’t always feel courageous while you’re doing it.

Every stage of this one humbled me. Speaking is what I do, and preparing for TEDx Buckhead Ave still required more of me than I planned for. Sometimes we give up too early because the beginning feels hard. But the pressure is the point. It is what turns preparation into readiness.

Diamonds are the goal not coal - PRESSURE creates BREAKTHROUGH ✨

turns out i had a few things to say 🎤 i've spent years noticing a recurring tension in journalism and in the journalists i studied for my research. so i decided to put the two together. the tricky part? making academic research digestible for those who don't want to spend hours reading academic research. you never know what will stick with an audience so the best part was hearing from people afterwards who said they saw themselves in the talk 🫶🏽 looking forward to sharing more...once legally permitted to spill #tedx #atl #storytelling @tedxbuckheadave

This is what TEDx looked like from the inside.

Not just the 14½ minutes on the red circle.

Months of writing, cutting, rewriting, rehearsing, coaching, practising — and thinking about it when I probably should have been thinking about something else.

Then the morning came.

I woke up, pulled the blankets around me and honestly didn’t want to get out. I knew what I had to do that day — and I already couldn’t wait to crawl back under them again that night.

I was ready. Really ready.
I was also nervous.
And so were the others! 🫠

Behind the beautiful clothes, red carpet and smiling faces was a room full of women who cared enormously about what they were about to say.

Then I walked onto that red circle and spoke for 14½ minutes about creativity and the hidden cost of waiting to be chosen.

There was cheering afterwards. Hugging. Dancing. Ridiculousness.

A little TEDx photo dump from the parts you didn’t see. ❤️

Twenty-two speakers. Twenty-two powerful ideas. Twenty-two voices ready to shift perspectives and spark new conversations.

What an honor it was to coach these incredible TEDx speakers and witness their ideas come to life on that red dot. I may have been their coach, but this experience poured just as much into me.

Grateful. Proud. Inspired. ❤️

MANY watch me…. Few TRULY see me.🎯
Many wait for the proof. SPECTATE even … But few invest in the vision.💅🏾

Tobi, you saw me, fully and without agenda, because you believe in the magic of PEOPLE. That’s rare, and I don’t take it lightly.
Honored to have worked with you. Grateful to have been coached by you. Keep being you. 🤍💫🏆 @tobigadison

What a day! @tedxbuckheadave Women was such a vibe. We had a sold out show, amazing audience, so many good nuggets and takeaways.

I love this work. Stepping on that red dot is a different experience and I am honored to help these speakers deliver the best talks they can.

Next up…the youth!!

I DID IT. 😭❤️

Today I gave my TEDx talk.

This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever chosen to do. Not because anyone made me. Not because I had to.

I said yes to something that scared me — and then spent months becoming the person who could walk onto that red circle and do it.

And this? This is what the other side looked like. 😂

Exhausted. Relieved. Proud. Very, very grateful.

Sometimes courage is simply choosing the thing you could have avoided… and staying with it all the way to the end.

TEDx. Done. ❤️
