✨ BSM Retreat 2024: A Heart of Service ✨

In 2023, a group of our sisters escaped to the beautiful countryside of Ticehurst for our BSM Retreat - a weekend dedicated to growing in faith, deepening sisterhood, and embracing a heart of service.

Under the theme “Service”, we explored what it truly means to serve God, each other, and our communities with love and purpose.

What We Did:
🚶‍♀️ Prayer walks in nature, reflecting on God’s calling
🤝 Group activities & deep discussions on biblical service
💬 Meaningful 1-1s & personal reflection time
🍳 Cooking together, sharing meals, and growing in unity
🎲 Fun games & laughter-filled moments of fellowship

What We Learned:
True service comes from a heart surrendered to God (Mark 10:45)
Serving others strengthens our faith and relationships
Small, everyday acts of kindness reflect Christ’s love

I almost did nothing for my birthday this year because I was just feeling so tired and overwhelmed but God used my beautiful friends into bullying me to do something… so I dropped a post very last min on my close friends feed with a week full of activities and here we are ~ last nights dinner was beautiful 🥺

The weeks not over, yet I am filled with love and gratefulness as I’ve entered into my 24th chapter with so many beautiful people in my life x

How are you?

Let’s spotlight another professional 👩🏽‍⚕️ @teey.afia she is a band 6 midwife, based in London.

She has been qualified for just over a year.

Before this she worked as a bank HCA 👩🏽‍⚕️in various hospitals & she has also worked as a barista at Pret A Manger

Before midwifery 👩🏽‍⚕️ she studied physiotherapy for a year in university, “I didnt enjoy it or perform very well so I knew it wasn't for me - midwifery 👩🏽‍⚕️definitely is though, it's the best job in the world!”

“I pride myself in being a child of God as I couldn't be where I am today without Him, He had a great plan for my life even when I didnt believe it. He answered prayers🙏🏾, He directed me in meeting people along the journey who've made a massive impact on who & where I am today, He protected me from many things & was with me through struggles I faced along the journey & is still being the same amazing God for me today as He was throughout my university journey so very grateful to God & a proud child of God!”

She also creates faith based & midwifery content on tiktok under @midwifevlogs to share knowledge with students, 👩🏽‍⚕️midwives, women & anyone interested in growing their knowledge in this field.
