THE LIVING LANDSCAPE | TEF 🇯🇲🌿

One island. Countless wonders. A landscape that never stands still.

Created for the Tourism Enhancement Fund (@TEFJamaica) as part of the sponsorship art wall for the JMEA 2026 M & E Awards, The Living Landscape is my interpretation of Jamaica’s natural beauty and the many experiences that shape its tourism industry.

Inspired by our identity as the land of wood and water, this mixed-media piece explores Jamaica as a living, breathing ecosystem. Flowing rivers, lush greenery, miniature landscapes, and winding waterways come together to represent an island whose beauty exists in the connections between its land, water, people, and places.

From the quiet magic of nature to the destinations that welcome visitors from across the world, Jamaica has a story to tell in every corner.

We are more than a destination. We are a living landscape.

Day one of the Ministry of Tourism’s Annual Strategic Planning Retreat 2026 set the stage for a new phase of tourism growth, as Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, led discussions on the theme “Tourism 3.0: Accelerating Innovation for a Smarter and More Resilient Tourism Sector.”

Senior representatives across the Ministry and its public bodies explored how Jamaica can move beyond growth in arrivals and earnings to retain more value locally, strengthen tourism linkages, embrace data and digital technology, modernise its legal and regulatory framework, and advance trade implementation, human capital development and tourism worker welfare.

With a focus on strategic priorities, measurable outcomes and implementation, the day reinforced a central ambition of the Tourism 3.0 growth agenda: building a smarter, more resilient tourism sector that delivers greater value and opportunity for the Jamaican people.

The work continues tomorrow!
