Dance with us, for a good cause 🙏

29/11: 22:00 - 07:00
CHINASTRAAT - GENT

A Tekno organisation with a mission: coming together for a better world. 🌎

This year’s goal: 🇲🇷
Resonant Earth and ForAPurpose will build a music studio together with Tadiazt at the end of 2026 in the M’berra refugee camp in Mauritania. This camp shelters thousands of Tuareg who were forced to flee from Mali.

For them, music is more than art: it is history, spirituality, and resistance. With the studio, the community will once again have a place to create, record, and share their music. This will generate a source of identity, healing, and hope.

We will raise money to help funding this magnificent project! ❤️💪

Time to announce our next project: a music studio in the M’berra refugee camp, supporting emerging artists across the Mauritanian-Malian border 🔥💪

The M’berra refugee camp in southeastern Mauritania is home to over 100,000 people, mostly Tuareg who fled violence and cultural repression in Mali. Music, an essential part of their culture and identity, had been banned there for years. At the request of the community itself, a plan was born to build a music studio within the camp.

There is a need for a safer space where music can once again be shared. A place where young people can create, heal their wounds, and keep their cultural heritage alive. Today, contemporary Saharan rhythms weave together diverse backgrounds, stories, genres, and influences. Music thus becomes a meeting place where tradition and renewal embrace, and where diversity is not only heard but celebrated.

@resonant_earth_ together with the Malian organization @tadiazt and the Belgian non-profit organisation @for_a_purpose, are building a sustainable music studio in the M’berra refugee camp in 2026. After completion, concerts, jam sessions, trainings, and residencies will follow, where young people learn to record, produce, and take part in a documentary about music in exile.

To make this vision a reality, we need to cover some very tangible needs:
• A building that can be adapted into a music studio, plus a small coordination space
• Instruments, recording equipment, and a sound system
• Salaries for a small local coordination team
• Audio and video materials for workshops and a collaborative documentary

We’ve already submitted several grant applications and are currently awaiting results. In the meantime, we’re relying on the support of the Belgian music community, through benefit events such as @tek_forapurpose and Eclectiek, and through contributions to our GoFundMe page (link in bio).
From silence to song: your support can help music rise again in the heart of the desert.
