Been home almost a week. Banff residency was amazing and life affirming.
The best part was the people. The connections. Thank you all for inspiring me, I've come home with a million stories about you all. Which is kinda funny coz I defs have this false narrative that I'm not good at making friends. I'm too much, too awkward, too dorky, too cool, too weird. I know, that's why I said false narrative.
You know you have a place to stay when you come to NZ.
I'm not one for false praise, so please know this ain't a token gesture of love. It's real, and big, and forever.
Love youz! Arohanui. Xx

Te Kahureremoa: Bro let's take a photo
Mara: What's the vibe?
Te Kahureremoa: Te Reo Māori!

Vibe nailed.
Such a big moment for me to sing with this fulla! 💛 We played a cool full waiata māori set last night with lil ragtag crew at Moon. It was (k)new vibes for me, and it was yummi.

Went to #newtownfestival today and saw #ladyfruit who was awesome, I'm sure she has a few more souls than normal packed into that one body.

A year ago, when I filled up on as much beauty and life force and inspiration as possible in a land bursting with all of it. One year before that, never thought I would feel so alive again, or so strong or so free. Necessary to reach for new life and to replenish, especially when fighting so much to just survive as indigenous people, as women, when under constant attack. Necessary to grow those resurgence dreams. To plant them in yourself and in everything we cherish most. Sacred spaces in self, sacred spaces in land, sacred spaces in us. Thank you #Aotearoa and all the bright spirits who came into my life there! #protectthesacred #resurgencedreams #waterislife
