Temple ruins, recast as furniture ✵ INTERNATIONAL DESIGN presents Dissonant Classicism by Tellurico, a sculptural collection where stucco, the ancient technique used to clad Greek temple pillars, is reworked into a raw, contemporary language. Hand-applied in textured layers, each piece stays unpolished on purpose, its fluted surfaces catching light the way a ruin does at midday. Designed by Tellurico Handcrafted in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🔗 Available on our platform now Beige stucco urn with curved handles and a low bench on two fluted column stools, inside an abandoned industrial building with concrete pillars. MDW26 Più passa il tempo e più mi accorgo di avere la digestione lenta, rispetto a certi momenti dell’anno, rispetto a certi periodi, rispetto alla vita. Quest’anno, ad aprile, per la mia ottava Design Week da operaio di settore, ho avuto l’opportunità e la felicità di curare una delle 10 esposizioni per celebrare i primi 10 anni del distretto di @isola.design . Ho lavorato su un tema molto complesso e fondamentale per il periodo storico che stiamo attraversando. Ho immaginato di costruire ‘Archivi Futuri’ , basati sul presupposto di dover riaprire questi archivi dopo il 2050 e trovare solo oggetti che abbiano avuto il valore e le potenzialità di essere conservati, tramandati e rimasti utili nonostante il tempo trascorso. Il tempo e lo spazio minimo di un cassetto analogico, messi in contrapposizione alla moderna tecnologia di archiviazione digitale illimitata, potenzialmente attraente ma che non consente una selezione attenta di ciò che conserviamo: una cosa necessaria all’interno di un cassetto analogico, in cui il tempo si può fermare, cristallizzare, resistere e quindi essere riconoscibile a distanza di anni. Mi fermo qui e vi continuerò a parlare del progetto espositivo ‘Archivi Futuri’ , con la relativa nuova collezione presentata in anteprima per MDW26, in altre occasioni. Questo agglomerato di ricordi nella mia galleria mi ricorda quanto sono fortunato ad essere circondato da persone, amici che abitano il mondo e che, prima di ogni altro aspetto, mi permettono di condividere con loro i miei pensieri. È sempre tutto molto tremendamente difficile, ma basta fare la cacca nel momento giusto. ;) P.S. After Milan Design Week I always need a bit of time to digest everything. This year even more, it’s already been a month! Celebrating @isola.design’s 10th anniversary in the neighborhood where it all started felt intense and emotional. So many visitors came through the exhibitions, the response to the showcased works was incredible, and the energy around the district throughout the week was something really special. For the first time in a while, I also tried to experience the week differently. A bit less stress, a bit more enjoying the moment and the people around me. One of the best parts was reconnecting with friends in Milan, past collaborators, and designers who helped shape Isola into what it is today. I was also very happy to see so many creatives, founders, and industry professionals visiting from Dubai and the Middle East. More and more, it feels like we are truly building a bridge between Europe and the Middle East through design, and this year that feeling became stronger with the announcement of new projects with @ithra and @base.39. A huge thank you to our entire team. Delivering such a complex event takes an insane amount of work, and you all did an incredible job. I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved once again. And of course, thank you to our community, which keeps growing year after year, not only in the quantity of people but especially in the quality of ideas and connections that continue to keep our mission alive. Special thanks also to all our partners, especially @designtech.hub, @_materially_, @mdd_furniture, and @mobbiofficial. Somehow, this edition felt like the closing of a circle and the beginning of a new chapter for Isola, one that will open up a broader vision for everything we have built together over the years.

Un mismo material, dos formas de expresarlo. White Lollipop y Black Lollipop exploran la dualidad desde el color: base blanca y base negra, ambas atravesadas por fragmentos de plástico reciclado. En “Nothing Happens If Nothing Happens”, durante Dubai Design Week 2023, estos patrones se convirtieron en el hilo conductor de un sistema de piezas que se ensamblan entre sí. Cortes irregulares y composiciones dinámicas que rompen con la rigidez de las líneas rectas. Diseñado por Tellurico con Polygood®, el proyecto planteaba una nueva forma de entender la sostenibilidad: no como algo limitado a lo natural u orgánico, sino como un campo abierto a la innovación y la experimentación. Un enfoque circular basado en el uso de materiales reciclados, la reducción de emisiones y la revalorización de residuos. Una demostración de que lo sostenible no tiene una única estética. Francesco Pace Tellurico’s work explores the interplay between an object’s setting and the characteristics of the place itself, a dialogue between the piece and the grander relationships between general historical, geological, and social aspects of humankind, as well as the uniqueness and simplicity of everyday life. The context in which a project is born is the primary focus of the extensive research that goes into his work. At the center of Tellurico’s practice, timeless notions of folklore inhabit the work alongside the more practical relationship between craft and the environment. In London, Tellurico presents a dialogue between body, material and transformation. On view at Mint Gallery as part of the exhibition Second Skin, the bench Panca is presented as a key work, developed within the framework of the Contemporary Design Factory, a residency held in February 2025 at Dopo Space in Milan. Hand-carved from solid Abachi and Linden wood with a Black Ebony matte finish, Panca embodies a theoretical and performative exploration of contemporary design. It reflects a shift away from industrial production toward a multidisciplinary approach where art, science and craft intersect. The gesture of carving becomes both process and statement, design as a physical act. Alongside it, a selection of vases from the Telluride series expands Tellurico’s ongoing material research. Handmade in Volcanic Porcelain, these works combine porcelain clay with volcanic rock. During the firing, the lava melts and fractures the porcelain structure, generating organic, unpredictable textures. The result is a surface shaped by heat and tension, raw yet refined, fragile yet resistant.
