The award-winning Nigerian Stage Production “Dear Kaffy” makes its highly anticipated London debut this weekend 7-9 Aug at the Shaw Theatre in London.

Following its successful run in Lagos and South Africa Dear Kaffy arrives in the United Kingdom for a limited three-day engagement, bringing an authentic, witty, and emotionally compelling Nigerian story to international audiences.

At the heart of the play is Kikelomo Olota (Kike), a successful 35-year-old woman navigating the complexities of love, family expectations, self-discovery, and societal pressure in contemporary Lagos.

Through moments of humour, heartbreak, music, and reflection, Dear Kaffy explores universal themes of identity, womanhood, love, and authenticity.

We caught up with Bolanle Austen-Peters who shares the importance of the play which charts the diary of a single woman in Lagos. Link in bio to book tickets.

We had the pleasure of being in the company of the legendary Prof Wole Soyinka earlier this week who was in conversation with Utopia Theatre artistic director Mojisola Kareem as part of the revival of his play The Swamp Dwellers.

Here he shares how he detested mathematics and mathematicians. Watch to see how he answered a question poised by @temtalkswith on making time to connect with the community and young minds.

Thank you to @temtalkswith for attending on our behalf.

#TheSwampDwellers continues at Utopia Theatre until Sat 11 Jul.

I’m so excited to finally share this…

I’ve officially been appointed the UK Travel Ambassador for Aké Arts & Book Festival 2026! 🇬🇧✈️📚

Last year was my first AkéFest, and I can honestly say it was one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve ever had. I went expecting a book festival and left with so much more. New friendships, incredible conversations, unforgettable panels and a renewed appreciation for the power of African stories. It genuinely changed the way I think about books, community and culture.

This year, I get to help others experience that magic too.

Aké Arts & Book Festival takes place in Lagos, Nigeria, from 19–21 November 2026, bringing together some of the most exciting writers, artists, thinkers and creatives from across Africa and the diaspora.

I’ll be organising a UK group travelling to the festival, and I’d absolutely love for you to join us. Whether you’ve always wanted to experience AkéFest or you’re simply curious, this is your sign.

✨ I only have a small number of spaces available.

If you’d like to come along, comment “AkéFest26 ✈️” below or send me a DM to register your interest, and I’ll share everything you need to know.

I genuinely can’t wait to return to AkéFest, and this time, experience it alongside an amazing group of readers, writers and lovers of African literature. ❤️ And trust me, I’ve curated some extra special VIP experiences for you especially.

“What did you go and do in Cannes?”

Besides eating croissants on the Croisette?

I got to host @weareblackjournos very first ever creative link up, in the most stunning villa, facilitating conversations between Cannes connoisseurs and Cannes cubs (the newbies).

Thank you to @hannah_ajala for arranging it all and creating a space for us to have genuinely open, honest, and meaningful conversations. In an environment that can be so overstimulating, that villa was exactly the safe space and downtime we needed.

This is what @temtalkswith is all about.

Real conversations, in real rooms, with real people.

Utopia Theatre presents Prof #WoleSoyinka’s forgotten play #TheSwampDwellers which receives Sheffield revival after over half a century.

🗓️ The Swamp Dwellers plays from 29 Jun to 11 Jul @utopia_theatre
Directed by Mojisola Kareem

The cast features:
Jude Akuwudike
Urielle Klein-Mekongo
Theo Ogundike
Obi Maduegbuna
Drummer, Mr Culture
Joshua Roberts-Mensah
Omobola Akanbi

More than 65 years after it was written, Wole Soyinka’s work remains strikingly relevant. Set in the Niger Delta, the play explores themes that continue to shape lives around the world today: migration, environmental change, displacement, economic hardship and the search for opportunity.

As relentless rains destroy harvests and livelihoods, the play’s characters face difficult choices: remain rooted in the community they know or seek a future elsewhere. Their struggles resonate powerfully in a world increasingly shaped by climate change, inequality and movement between rural and urban communities.
