When most people think of physcal therapy, they think the "why" behind what we do is to help people get out of pain

And they're right. That's what most physical therapy clinics' "whys" are and what purpose their clinics serve

Pro+Kinetix's "why" is different and so much more. It's helping people live longer AND help our patients make the most out of those added years.

It's also why most of our patients continue to work with us on a monthly basis long after they're out of pain to optimize and dial in their training programming, nutrition, sleep, and all things that put them in the best position to live longer and to make the most out of those added years - being active and making memories with their loved ones

This is our "why"

🏆 BEST OF OAKLAND 2026 WINNER🏆

Oakland, you did this! Pro+Kinetix Physical Therapy & Performance was just voted Best Physical Therapy Clinic in Oakland Magazine's Best of Oakland 2026 - and this award belongs to every single patient who walked (or limped 😉) through our doors.

To our patients: thank you for trusting us with your recovery. Every rep you pushed through, every early morning appointment, every "okay, one more set" - that's what built this. Watching you get back to running Lake Merritt, lifting your kids, and doing the things you love is why we show up every day.

And to our fellow PTs out there: this is what happens when a team gets to practice the way PT should be practiced - one-on-one care, real time with patients, and a crew that has your back. If that sounds like the kind of place you'd want to grow your career, we'd love to hear from you. Our door's always open!

Here's to you, Oakland. Let's keep moving. 💪

Two athletes can produce the same output and move very differently to get there.

One may be compensating. One may be absorbing force poorly. One may be carrying an asymmetry that becomes more relevant under fatigue. None of that is obvious from the outside.

Objective data helps separate what looks the same from what is actually different. That distinction matters when training decisions affect development, durability, and long-term performance.

We made the 2026 Inc. 5000 Magazine 🏆

That puts Pro+Kinetix among the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America, out of more than 6 million. The same list that ranked Microsoft, Patagonia, and Chobani early on. Seven years ago we were one room in Oakland. Today we’re multiple locations with a team of 20+ amazing team members

From day one the goal has been simple: show people what good healthcare actually looks like. A full hour, one on one, with a medical professional who listens. We treat the person in front of us, not a line on a chart. Your goals, your training, the stuff you’re trying to get back to.

To the PTs watching who are stuck somewhere they can’t give patients the care those patients actually deserve: we’re hiring. You know the feeling. Too many people on the schedule, not enough time with any of them, doing a version of the job you didn’t sign up for.

We’re built the opposite way. Full-hour, one-on-one sessions, mentorship from board-certified OCS and SCS clinicians, and a company growing fast enough that your career has room to move. Come do the work you got into this for.

To our team: this one’s yours. Thanks for always taking pride in what we do.

Best part is we're just getting started 🚀

KIME Premiere Sports Clinical Rotation Spotlight: Matteo Del Mastro

As Matteo Del Mastro wraps up his Premiere Sports Clinical Rotation at KIME this week, we’re proud to recognize the impact he made during his time at our Sacramento clinic inside Sacramento Athletic Center.

Matteo is currently completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy program at University of California, San Francisco, where he has built a strong foundation in orthopedic rehabilitation, performance-based care, and strength & conditioning.

During his rotation, Matteo trained under Clinic Instructor & KIME Fellow Josef Mielke, gaining hands-on exposure to the integration of rehabilitation, objective testing, performance training, and return-to-performance principles that define the KIME model.

He also contributed to injury prevention efforts supporting tactical athletes and first responders — gaining experience in the unique physical demands and performance considerations of these populations.

Matteo brought a strong research mindset, coaching background, and commitment to continuous learning into every environment he entered. His passion for evidence-informed care and movement-based coaching aligned naturally with the culture and standards we strive to build at KIME.

The Premiere Sports Clinical Rotation is designed to expose future clinicians to more than traditional outpatient physical therapy — immersing them in an environment where sports medicine, performance, education, and leadership development intersect.

As Matteo prepares to continue his career in the Bay Area following graduation, we’re excited to watch his continued growth as a clinician and grateful for the time he spent with us at KIME.

The next generation of sports medicine clinicians is being developed differently.

🔥Our trainers set the standard inside these walls!

✅ They lead workouts

✅ They assess movement

✅ They refine technique

✅ They build programs
around the individual

✅ They challenge you when you need it

✅ They encourage you when it’s tough

Some moments are focused and dialed in😤others are filled with smiles and laughs🤩

💯That balance is what builds strength — inside and out!

This is how we do it here💪

My thoughts on the role of velocity-based training in rehab because some people seem interested in hearing what I have to say on the topic

VBT can help us autoregulate and be a bit more precise in managing systemic stress. However it is neither necessary for effective rehab nor a replacement for an understanding of training principles.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time @greatnotion in Berkeley, where we connected with local PT and PTA students, discussing opportunities to work at SOL.
