November 5, 2016. Hazel, one of several Great Pyrenees guardians at Dogwood Hills Guest Farm in Cozahome, AR is known for her smile. She was showing it to me here as the annual Cast Iron cook off was taking place. @dogwood_hills_bb is a local Ozarks farm where people can visit, or book a stay, and participate in everyday farm chores and eat delicious farm to table meals. #smile #ozarklife #dog #adoptdontshop #dogsofinstagram #hikaricreative #bnw_demand #bnw #lensculture #street #yourshotphotographer

I did a couple photo sessions yesterday with local farm families. It was windy as all heck out, which made for some fun hair 😜. The pup knew something was up so he didn’t want to make his usual leap up to the hay bales. Dad lifted him to the girls so he could be in their sister photo. Ozarks of Arkansas.

Looking for milk in all the wrong places. Soap, a bottle calf that was recently weaned, is still looking for milk. His head popped through my legs as I was hanging out at a friend’s cattle ranch.

From the photographer: "I love that [this] senior high school photo session at Buffalo River yesterday included several impromptu wildlife moments 💜. I am used to taking these type of photos with my young kids, so seeing a teenager still excited about a frog makes my heart smile."
I hope my kids are still into frog catching when they're teenagers! Thanks for sharing this moment Terra!

Our foster dog, Joe, and my daughter... hanging out under the peach trees. Joe is at the vet today getting shots and neutered thanks to our local nonprofit Ozark Homeward Bound agency. I will pick him up soon and bring him back to our home until he gets adopted. Or until we decide to keep him ;). Whichever's first.

Meet Joe. We brought him home from our local farmers market Saturday morning. One of the vendors told us that his family moved away and left him and he'd been one of the town roamers for awhile. My daughter was petting him the whole time we were there and started bawling when I said we needed to go. After getting in the car, I couldn't bear leaving him to get hit by a car on the highway some day in his future, so we drove back up and the vendors helped us load him into the car. He's been my daughter's best friend all weekend. Although he wasn't too excited about a bath, he cleaned up nice and seems to feel a lot better. We've connected with Ozark Homeward Bound to get him vetted and on the adoption list. This is my first experience with Ozark Homeward Bound and they are freaking awesome...they've placed over 1200 dogs in the last 7 years, where they live in foster homes until picked up. We have a serious dog/ cat issue here in AR. Please spay and neuter your animals, there are ways to get it done cheap or free!!
