No vinyl Friday this week as I’ve got some festive time off from the day job - so instead, here are five crackers I find myself listening to at this time of year:

@christophberg - Paraphrases
“Some of the finest modern classical chamber music you’re likely to hear; a true classic in my book and a record I tend to reserve for winter. Will never forget opening the parcel for this one from Fluid Audio… a feast for the eyes and ears.”

@hammockband - Silencia
“Finely balanced between Modern Classical and Ambient music, this is probably my favourite Hammock record and it ranks very highly on my list of all-time favourite records. I find I always seem to play it around Christmas time.”

@melodygardotofficial - Sunset In The Blue
“The album cover and title suggest something warm and Mediterranean. But I always seem to put this one on at Christmas - the rich strings and orchestration seem to be just the ticket this time of year. Such a quality album, this.”

@viktorarnason & @alfheidurerla - Poems
“This album crept into my favourite records of 2023, after I grabbed the LP in November that year. A wonderful pairing of Álfheiður’s vocals performing traditional Icelandic hymns, alongside the cinematic mastery of Viktor Orri Árnason.”

@terrymagson - En Garde
“I first heard this via the legendary Fluid Radio blog donkeys years ago after they featured the album in their album of the year coverage. The album was released in the summer that year, but after picking up on Fluid’s recommendation, I had it on repeat that December. It’s become an all-time classic for me, and one that somehow feels festive.”

Cinematic portraits on film by @terrymagson ~ Healing isn’t linear, and neither is life. Keep going. 💫

There’s something about film that captures the rawness, no filters, no retakes, just the moment. This image speaks to the battles we fight, the moments in chaos, and of simply being.Mental health is finding peace in the in-between, learning to breathe through the noise.

- Warped Mirror -

Hi, I'm a musician from the Isle of Wight, but currently out wandering different cities. The reason I choose to shoot with film is because for me it feels more authentic and holds a more valuable process with lots of character.
