HELP IS BUT A TRANSACTION AWAY

Day 23 of #boardtober2026, hosted by @getintogames

While out at sea in Deep Regrets, things get strange very quickly. The deeper you fish, the fouler the things you can reel in, and the more your madness creeps in. 🎣

Thankfully, relief is just a short trip back to port.

Sell your catch, buy new equipment, supplies (and dice) and carry on. But with every foul catch comes with regrets, and at the end of the game the player with the most has to throw away their most valuable mounted fish. Some help costs more than it looks.

‘Help is but a transaction away’ is today’s Boardtober prompt by @getintogames and I don’t know about anyone else, but I could really use some help with my own personal demons right about now 😅 so it felt appropriate to talk about this one today

I don’t say this lightly, it has all our favourite things:
Simultaneous turns ✅
Pick and pass drafting ✅
Puzzly gameplay ✅
Beautiful components ✅
Unique and compelling theme ✅

So, I guess it’ll come as no surprise that we LOVE IT

Besides the satisfying and seamless gameplay, these are some of the unique things we like about it…

The rulebook is easy to understand while also being a genuine joy to read due to the messaging around mental health and wellbeing

The leader card is something that’s needed in games like this, especially at a higher player count, so we appreciate the attention to detail

‘Hefty’ and ‘colossal’ demons that you can optionally summon once you’ve got enough of the right seals and which bring a really interesting twist to the puzzle

Your personal Fear card is a bit of a nuisance but it creates an extra layer of complexity and gives you something to focus on early doors

For us, the only things to consider are:
• The artwork is beautiful, but sometimes borderlines on genuinely disturbing 🫣 so may not be everyone’s taste
• Table space – the player boards are pretty big so you’re gonna want a decent sized area to play
• As in most pick and pass games, drafting what you need tends to be a bit easier with more players as you’re cycling through more cards

We’ve played at two, three, and five players so far which were all super enjoyable plays and whilst I haven’t tried the solo mode yet, it looks great!

The campaign recently ended but late pledges are still open – check it out @tettixgames

This is our pick for today’s #firstimpressionsfriday🎲 with @nerdygirlgaming
