thank you @tevaruaori 🤎 I’ll always be thankful that my passion for dance was reignited when I joined TVO 2 years ago. This family and community will always be special to me(: Thank you to all the girls that made me feel welcomed. And thank you @angela_liavaa_tvo for sharing your heart with us, and for creating a space for people to express their love for ‘Ori tahiti. The flame will always live on ❤️‍🔥

When we found out @tevaruaori was ending in May, you could instantly feel the impact it had on everyone in the studio. The sadness came in waves, and the pressure to soak in every moment was heavy. I remember heading to every practice thinking, this is one of the last practices I’ll get to learn from Ang.

So here’s a little POV from me as a student of Te Varua ‘Ori, and the last few months we got to learn from Ang. The practices, the production, the hard work, and all the little moments in between.

This is what I wanted to remember 😭🥹

@angela_liavaa_tvo, our ra’atira… thank you for giving us everything you could. I tried to live in every moment we had at practice and cherish all the final times we got to learn from you. Thank you for sharing Tahitian dance, your story, and your heart with us. You deserve the rest and to not have to make any more decisions LOL 😂❤️

To my staff,

I’ve tried to think of the right words to say to you, and the truth is, I don’t know if there are words big enough. Because you were never just my staff.

I know there were times I expected a lot from you. There were times I was overwhelmed, distracted, stressed, or so focused on getting everything done that I probably didn’t stop and tell you enough how much I appreciated you.

Because I noticed more than I probably ever said. I noticed when you stayed longer than you had to. I noticed when you loved on a dancer who needed a little extra attention. I noticed when you stepped in without being asked. I noticed when you protected the vision. I noticed when you carried something because you knew I was already carrying too much.

There were seasons when I felt like I had to be strong because everyone was depending on me. But the truth is, there were many times when you were the ones holding me up. I don’t think you will ever fully understand what that meant to me.

When I look around Te Varua ‘Ori, I see pieces of all of you everywhere. You left your fingerprints on this place. And that means when these doors close, what you gave doesn’t disappear.

That is part of YOUR legacy.

God was and is faithful. He was faithful when Te Varua ‘Ori began. He was faithful through every high and every low. He was faithful when I was strong. He was faithful when I was tired. And He was faithful when He brought each of you into this story. I don’t believe that was an accident. For a season, God allowed our lives to meet here. And what a beautiful season it has been.

So as we walk away from this chapter, please know that I am not walking away thinking, “Look what I built.” I’m walking away thinking, “Look what God allowed us to build together.” And I will forever be grateful that He chose YOU to build it with me.

Wherever life takes us from here, you will always be part of Te Varua ‘Ori. And you will always be part of me.

It’s has been a true honor and blessing to have each of you by my side.

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Short answer: THANK YOU @angela_liavaa_tvo @tevaruaori I love you forever!!!

Long answer:
How beautiful it is to have something THIS hard to say goodbye to. As most have already mentioned, there are no words to explain this feeling.
Jaidyn and I were interviewed and asked, “What is something that only those in Te Varua ‘Ori would understand?” I wish I could go back and change my answer, because now that the production is actually over, these emotions of grief, gratitude, hope, sadness, the overflowing memories .. that is what only those of Te Varua ‘Ori understand. None of these words and captions are doing it justice because it’s a sensation so deep down in each of us that we can only try our best to put it into words. But that’s what connects us beyond the stage from that night .. these intangible emotions that’ll just remain internally.

Ang,
You’ve cultivated a place of love, discipline, and unity. Your values spread like wildfire; look at all the lives you’ve touched, who all share their passion to their loved ones and so on!! 20 years later, your Te Varua ‘Ori legacy has impacted not only each dancer/musician that was on stage, but every past dancer, every friend and family supporter, all the way to individuals across the world!!

Although we are grieving this release of the group (not the end), I am so proud to see you walk in faith into your next chapter.
I am forever grateful to you for instilling my spark 13 years ago.

Portraying Mārama has been my dream come true to say the least. I’ve been told my time would come, but I never imagined it would be the last of TVO’s productions. I’m honored to display someone so raw, vulnerable, and relatable. We are ALL Mārama, with our own stories to tell. Our own obstacles to face, but not alone. We face them with our own Te Ahi within us. ❤️‍🔥😭 Te Varua ‘Ori will always be my spark.

@mcjaidyn — you already know. hehe. But just to reiterate.. I’d do this ENTIRE journey all over again with you in a SECOND if we got the chance. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥

@kristirome @gdotbrenner @lifeofmo0916 @charlize_faye.inc in awe of your QUICK creativity lol thank you for helping us all feel and look beautiful!!!!!! I loved to lear
