If only you could be there with me to experience the magic yourself.

It’s been four years since I first learned about the mission and drive of this incredible organization, and to finally be amidst its chaos has been both humbling and truly life-changing. Over the past four days, 42 kiddos came through our doors, and 42 left — some now able to hold their mothers’ hands a little tighter, and others able to walk more independently because of the orthopedic surgeries we were able to provide. To witness it all unfold before my eyes has been incredible. Watching this team persist day in and day out, fueled by camaraderie and gratitude, inspired a form of medicine I hope to carry forward — one where healing knows no boundaries.

To the kiddos I’ve met, thank you for showing me your resilience. I hope you dream big, live the life you’ve always imagined, and one day become the doctors and dentists you told me you aspire to be.

To my team who guided me through it all, thank you for welcoming me with open arms and showing me what it means to heal selflessly. The countless memories we made together on this trip will never be forgotten.

Thank you @texasaed, @pieapresident, @operationkiddocs, and @centromooregt for a trip of a lifetime. Until we meet again Guatemala.

4/21/2026. Another beautiful day at the Moore Center filled with fun, joy, and endless selfless servitude.

Today, we completed a total of 11 orthopedic cases and I am grateful to be able to observe Dr. Mo and Dr. Shapiro with 3 foot and ankle procedures. Healthcare is a team sport and here, it truly highlights that. Nothing is possible without every single component of contributing to this collaborative environment.

Today, was another great day of supporting this community and changing the health landscape in Guatemala, we are so excited to see what day 3 has in store!

Surgery has officially started at the Moore Center with Operation KidDocs (4/20/2026). Today we completed 12 pediatric orthopedic surgeries including scar excision, polydactyl excision, and femur shorten.

From nurses, scrub techs, circulators, anesthesiologist, and surgeons, the passion for this work could not be ignored today—they were absolutely empowered to make lasting different for these children lives and how it will shape their family and surrounding community. It was all smiles today from 7am until final close at 5pm!

It has been an extraordinary first with the Operation KidDocs team, and I am excited to what amazing opportunity and experience Day 2 has to offer
