Rollingwood Night Out Recap!

We had the pleasure of putting another RNO in the books! Year after year, we watch this event bring our community together in such a special way. We're forever thankful to have the opportunity to educate residents on public safety, community organizations, and even municipal infrastructure like MS4.

This event wouldn't be possible without all of the agencies, organizations, and local restaurants that contribute their time and effort. We'd like to send a huge thank you to everyone who donated their time to this event. We'll see you next year!

When disaster strikes, search and rescue teams are among the first to answer the call.

One year after the Texas Hill Country floods, the Right Connection Foundation is proud to support @texsar and the teams who step forward when communities need them most.

Thank you to the volunteers and responders who serve Texans through the most difficult moments.

Habanero 135: Reflections of a Pacer

It’s only August, but I will go ahead and call it. The achievement I am most proud of in 2026 is pacing @zednemsira for the Habanero 135. @trailracingovertexas

Last year he did the 100-mile race and wanted to level up to the 135-mile version this year. He asked @_ellisontherun and me to pace him. We of course agreed.

Few things are more rewarding than helping a friend achieve their goals. He managed to finish 2nd overall and 1st place male. There are some things we can improve for next year. The three of us have been trading notes on that.

We showed up early in the morning Saturday, right after he finished 50 miles. Then over the next 18 hours we traded 10k loops pacing in heat that reached 103 F. Texas Search and Rescue pulled more than one person off course. But we made sure to stay hydrated and fed. We also used Feed bandannas full of ice to help keep our core temperatures down. I only started to really feel the heat around mile 4 of each 6-mile loop.

After finishing a loop, I immediately hydrated and consumed calories. Then I refilled my soft bladders and placed them on ice in my Yeti. (Despite the temperatures, my Yeti kept ice all day after I filled it at 4 AM.) I then removed my wet (from sweat) socks and shoes and placed them in the sun to dry. It was so hot that my shoes were completely dry by the time I had to head out for a new loop. Finally, I laid in a lounge chair and tried to nap, which I was not able to successfully do, but the relaxation was good.

Last Thursday night, Next Mission welcomed Justin McInnis, President & CEO of TEXSAR — who went from volunteering during the 2015 Memorial Day Floods... to leading one of Texas’ top search and rescue teams.

TEXSAR volunteer Scott Abram shared what he found after military service: purpose. A team. A reason to stay ready.

Big thanks to our board member Charlene Miseli for leading the conversation — and to the whole TEXSAR team for showing up and sharing their story.

Veterans + community + purpose = a night we won’t forget. 🫡

Grateful for the Journey 🙏🏃‍♂️

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who supported me, encouraged me, prayed for me, and followed along on this journey. Your messages, calls, comments, and support meant more than you know. ❤️

I set out Friday night at 6:00 PM to attempt the 135-mile trail race in Cat Spring, Texas. This was my first attempt at taking on a distance beyond 100 miles.

I didn’t get the finish I was hoping for, but I’m still proud of what I accomplished. I made it through the night and into Saturday afternoon, finishing 53 miles before deciding my race was over.

Yes, it’s a DNF — but it’s also a new personal distance at Habanero, and I’m choosing to look at the accomplishment rather than the finish line I didn’t reach.

My longest race finish remains my 100-mile Rocky Raccoon finish, but this experience pushed me into new territory and taught me a lot about myself, endurance, and the journey.

Sometimes the victory isn’t crossing the finish line. Sometimes it’s having the courage to start, keep going when it gets hard, and come away ready to try again.

53 miles. 16+ hours. One incredible journey. And I’m not done yet. 💪🔥

Thank you all for being part of the journey. ❤️

Shout out to @campkinro for fueling me for over 16 hours!
