Burdett FC Senior Team
Islington Market Road | Summer 2026

After a difficult season in the ILFL Winter League, the club made the decision to change direction, with a new management team brought in to rebuild the senior side.

The response has been extremely positive. Across our 10-game summer campaign at Islington Market Road, the team produced some fantastic performances and memorable moments, eventually finishing mid-table in a competitive division.

A huge amount of credit goes to First Team Manager Anas, alongside Head of Football Ibrahim, who have worked tirelessly to rebuild a senior setup that was in desperate need of change.

At the heart of that rebuild has been a commitment to youth, with several players making the step directly from our U17s into men’s football and becoming regular members of the senior squad. Their performances throughout the summer have shown just how exciting the future of this group can be.

Massive thanks to every player who represented Burdett throughout the summer. It was especially great to welcome back so many familiar faces and former Burdett players, who made time to return to the club and play their part in the campaign.

Once Burdett, always Burdett. 💙

Islington Summer League 2026
GAMEWEEK 3 RESULT (3-1)
Thursday 18th June

⚽️ Saqib
⚽️ Jassim
⚽️ Thomas 🚀

🅰️ Rej x2
🅰️ Amidur

A second win on the bounce for the senior team as a solid performance saw us take 3 points. Saqib opened the scoring through a great strike that curled past the keeper before Jassim made it 2 from close distance. Just before half time, Thomas rifled a half volley into the underside of the bar, nestling into the back of the net in an absolute rocket of a strike 😳 🚀

A quiet second half saw us lose the clean sheet with the opposition getting a consolation goal late. Under new management, the future is bright 💙💛

🏆 MOTM: Thomas
A captain's performance and a wonder strike to secure us the 3 points. Goal of the season so far.

First LRV FOOTY Mens game, good goals from both teams, fortunately we came out on top with the W Brilliant game against a top team @sba_cf. More to come in the future.
