As Tony Soprano would say, it’s good to be in something from the ground floor.

I’ve always liked the idea of that quote, but getting to actually live it out, and to build relationships with the people I’m doing this with, has been worth every mile and every minute. Getting to do this alongside some of my best friends, and to make new ones too, is what this activity is really all about.

I can’t wait to build this bassline with @tfoam12 @squidlybobs and @journey2fortyfour and write some poetry with the low tones

Stoked to get to work with this team!!

PS… there’s still time to audition! Come drum with us!!

Beyond excited. I can’t overstate how much faith and confidence I have in the team that’s been assembled here at Apollo. This organization will turn heads and plant its feet firmly in the ground. If I were still eligible to march I wouldn’t want to miss out on history. Come to an audition. There are still two more to go.

Thank you for fulfilling the dream of a boy 10 years ago who’s world got flipped Downside Up. That same boy can now say for the first time in his life, he’s truly satisfied.

Bluecoats 2026 was everything I could have asked for.

First place with a 99.1 and a Fred Sanford high percussion trophy. My drum corps “journey” started in November of 2011 with an audition for the Bluecoats as a high school kid who never expected DCI to actually be in the cards for himself. To have had that come full circle all these years later was something I genuinely never would have predicted.

This percussion staff and the @bluecoatsbloobies in particular were a dream to work with, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater group of 5 to experience this with. They really were a joy all the way through.

Winning has never been the point of any of this for me, but it sure does feel nice.

What a day! Thank you so much to all the amazing musicians and people that came to experience Apollo for the first time ever. We made history together and we already can’t wait for our next event.

Also…a huge standing ovation and thank you to @sb_percussion91 and Grain Valley Schools for hosting us for such a perfect event. We were able to officially get this off the ground and provide a wonderful experience thanks to you!

We hope everyone had an amazing time and made it home safe. We are looking forward to seeing you all again this fall for auditions. Next time, bring a friend so we can keep sharing the love. Let’s do this thing! 💛

More exciting news and updates on the way. Follow for more! :)

Introducing the educators behind Apollo!

We’ve put together a team of educators made up of passionate teachers, experienced performers, and proven leaders who believe great instruction creates great performers, and even greater people.

Our team will ensure that every rehearsal and lesson will be built on purposeful teaching, meaningful mentorship, and a commitment to helping every performer reach their potential.
