On August 13, 2026, community leaders, advocates, service providers, and partners gathered for the inaugural Houston Think Tank Initiative’s Ecosystem Gathering, a purpose filled day of honest conversation, shared learning, and collective strategy.

Together, we explored funding alignment, identified community priorities, and began creating a collective plan to better serve people living with HIV and those for whom HIV is possible. The gathering strengthened relationships across Houston’s HIV ecosystem and reaffirmed our shared commitment to building a more connected, equitable, and sustainable network of support.

We left the room reminded that meaningful change requires all of us...and that collective care must remain at the center of how we move forward.

🤝 Collaboration in Action 🤝
Partnership is how we move prevention forward.
The Houston HIV Prevention Community Planning Group (CPG), in collaboration with Brazos Valley TAAP and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), is proud to support this important HIV/STI Training for professionals committed to strengthening HIV prevention and sexual health across Texas.

We’re especially proud that our Community Co-Chair, Adonis, will serve as one of the featured presenters, providing sexual health training to more than 100 public health professionals, healthcare providers, counselors, and community advocates. By sharing evidence-based strategies, real-world experiences, and community-centered approaches, this training helps strengthen the workforce that’s on the front lines of HIV prevention every day.

In addition to the training, AHF will provide FREE HIV and STI testing and sexual health screenings for attendees because education and access go hand in hand.

This is what collaboration looks like: organizations coming together, sharing expertise, and investing in healthier communities.

✨#MeetHimMondays : An Open Letter to ‘Pride’!

I wanted to write something “deep;” but instead, I’ll write something prophetic:

It’s Pride Month, & as I think about what I want for our community—specifically my Black, male, queer—even MORE specific—Black, gay community, I want us to stop hurting one another! My prayer is that boys nor men have to grow up or live in fear of their lives being restricted or taken, simply because of their decisions to like or love!

My prayer is that the small boys who grow to be men get to be just that—boys who grow up—boys who get to be men—boys who get to say, “I like another boy,” & that they get the safety to actually repeat those words multiple times as men!

I hold your hand & my own when I admit this: There have been times when I have been afraid for my life, simply for who I loved. Times when those who I loved turned away; times when acceptance & rejection overpowered love & sensitivity.

To the Black boys who won’t read this, but to the Black men who will: I know it seems scary, I know you think you’ll be judged. I know you’ll feel scared to love another man out loud. I know you’ll wonder what they’ll think, but just know you’re doing your BEST to be alive & like, love, experience in your body, & that’s MORE THAN ENOUGH!

HAPPY PRIDE—DO YOUR BEST TO BE PROUD—NO MATTER WHAT!

Tale as old as time… true as it can be! It’s a special one’s birthday today! You’re over the hill and fabulous! You’re the Kel to my Bey, and I’ve been lucky to know you since you were (well, we don’t share ages, lol). But you can’t hide from your friend! What would my story in this life be if we hadn’t met all those years ago? You’ve been with me through it all, and I wouldn’t change a thing—well, maybe just how you blend your makeup (inside joke, of course).

You’re one wild, crazy kiddo, but through all the laughter and tears, you’ve been there for me through every single moment. I truly appreciate you, and I’m so grateful for our friendship. You are a constant source of love, strength, and joy.

I hope this year brings you everything you deserve—new experiences, growth, and incredible moments! May this be the best year yet, filled with love, abundance, and blessings—both seen and unseen.
