Yesterday was my sequel’s book release and my fourth published novel; I’ve been writing for nine years and published for seven, and have never felt so supported.

I don’t know what to say other than thank you so much for sharing your time, wisdom, and works with me. Thanks to everyone who has preordered and is STILL ORDERING 😭 I am so proud of all of the incredible creatives I get to collaborate with in bringing my stories to life. Ily, you’re tagged above. I am so f*cking stunned and grateful, at last, to be in good company.

I first want to thank all the authors tagged above. I say it so much yall are probably sick of me…but I’m just a baby author. I have no idea how to traverse this indie author landscape and I feel lost 99.9% of the time. These authors allowed me to share space with them and come together during this situation. I will be forever grateful for that.🫶🏼

Havoc and Cydney have been my dream editorial team as a freelance editor myself. I have read so many books that they worked on. I’m so thankful for the time and knowledge they donated to my story.🖤

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʜᴀᴘᴘᴇɴs ɴᴏᴡ...

I have mixed feelings of sadness, confusion, frustration, and empathy with the cancellation of the anthology. Honestly, I’m not sure what direction to proceed.

This was going to be my author debut in a little less risky, low stakes publication. I felt that putting my little baby author short story into an anthology alongside the writing of amazing authors I have read and look up to would be less vulnerable. Just a way to test out if my writing is actually something worth reading or if it’s all in my head. But now I’m at a crossroads.

I would like to still fulfill my promise to donate the proceeds of this story to Race Forward, but I’m not sure how best to do that. I know as a debut author the odds of a live/rapid release generating the same amount of profit as a pre-order campaign is not likely.

I do have the cover that I created myself and I could list it for pre-orders at a later date or list the paperback for sale, but it is such a short book that I’m not sure readers would want to read just a teaser of a longer story.

Or, I could release what I have now as a newsletter release or arc release and begin writing the rest of the novel. I’m just worried that I would not be able to provide a definite timeline for release because I’ve never written a full-length novel before.

I’m open to all the suggestions. I’m taking this as an opportunity to learn and grow as a (maybe) author.

(p.s. you may see some physical arc copies of Father Figure with the cover I made floating out in the wild over the next week or so. I had amazing alpha and beta readers that I will be sharing these copies with)

Hi, how are you all doing? Had the cover reveal for some certain neon books in your story? Well you might want to sit tight, and rethink who or what you want to support.

The bookish space has a long‑standing issue with ignoring harm - especially when it comes to promoting authors and books that uphold harmful narratives or align with harmful institutions. This isn’t about “drama” or “discourse.” It’s about understanding how our platforms, our hype, and our silence amplify real‑world harm.

It is important that first of all you LISTEN when people tell you about problematic stuff and second of all that you do not close your eyes but you start to think more critically for yourself. Black people have been talking about how problematic Sarah J. Maas posts and books are for ages and are asking to stop giving her a platform! But the (predominantly white) fandom is ignoring the racism, stereotypes, stigmata and ambiguous writing in her books and around her persona.

If we want a safer, more responsible bookish community, we have to listen, learn, and change - even when it’s uncomfortable for you. Especially if you call yourself “a safe space” for other readers, because no, if you promote harmful content or authors, you are under no circumstances a safe space.

Also don't go and pat yourself on the shoulder for just stopping to contribute to that woman. Just don't.

Go support all the people linked, do your own research, read more about the topic and for the love of gods stop promoting Sarah J. Maas.

Six months since April (January) and I’m doing better 💕

Wowowow Hi friends! We are officially through 6 months of 2026! How on earth did that happen?
This year has been… hard. And lovely and stressful and fulfilling, so far. I have dealt with a lot offline that has made being online a little hard to be honest. But I’m so grateful for the beautiful people in my life and these are (SOME OF) my favorite memories of the year so far 💕

Sharing my first draft makes me so nervous, but Beecham’s Infirmary for the Affluent Afflicted was totally elevated by beta reader feedback—that was my first time implementing it. Its sequel, CHÂTEAU VALMONT AND AN INHERITANCE OF THIRST, is now with @thatcydney and my lovey alpha reader team!

I’m going to be spending my time in Lumiose City; Draft 0 of Book 3 has commenced, but I’m going to be taking my time. Suffice to say, fully outlining books with each chapter’s end goal and emotional beats helps a LOT. I hope you enjoy!
