I’m not sure who is most overjoyed by this moment so I am declaring a three-way tie.

How to top yesterday’s unseasonably warm, 65- degree upstate day? A 74-degree sunny day in New York’s capital city…and being fully moved in to our new house. We don’t have proper front porch furniture yet, but that didn’t stop us from dragging a couple of dining room chairs outside and having celebratory cocktails. Cheers! 🏠

Doing a proper Manhattan boozy brunch with most of the crew from Oktoberfest 2024. So much fun!

My son, Colin, and his fiancée, Rebekah are visiting us from Virginia. Unfortunately, Mark had to work today, so the three of us took Jonas and Leo to The Mile-Around Woods, our favorite conservation preserve in Vermont, where the dogs can romp off-leash in much of it. I was reminded what a beautiful part of the US we’re in, but we could tell that winter isn’t far off. 🍁

Tomorrow me, this night was TOTALLY worth it!

I love that we still get to have evenings like this.

It was a gorgeous late summer/early fall weekend upstate, so Mark and I decided to take advantage of our proximity to Vermont (27 miles away) and take the dogs to a delightful nature preserve that he read about in North Bennington. We weren’t disappointed, and neither were Jonas and Leo. Parts of the preserve require dogs to be leashed, but much of it allows them to be off leash. We drove back through the far northwestern tip of Massachusetts, which is also stunningly beautiful.
