we are pregnant. that’s right. all on our own. and what a lesson this has been. after a year of screaming at my husband that im ovulating, endless conversations about tips and tricks, being told my numbers aren’t good enough, that I’m old, that im doing it wrong (all wrong) - we got pregnant. after trying to plan what month to conceive so could have the right astrological sign, get my body to the weight i wanted, make sure i have my Botox done, making sure i hold my legs up long enough, prayers, pills, doctors, podcasts, it happened. i decided to give myself a break. to stop trying, give myself three months to just take the pressure off. i decided to listen exclusively to the advice of two women i admire, @alisa.vitti and @aimeeraupp . i ate right, took supplements, stopped working out and just lived. and on a night without any intention other than to just love my dear husband, it happened. a baby girl. a Gemini. the sex and the sign i wasn’t expecting. she chose us. in just three months, our daughter taught me all the values i would have taught her: to love yourself as you are, that life is wildly unexpected, and the things you want most come when you are happy and least expecting it. i have been reminded once again this isn’t about me. no matter what the journey, thank god we have so much access to information, science and our wonderful doctors - there are so many wonderful options. in the room where i was conceived and my father passed, without any expectation, by the grace of god, my father and davides mother, she showed up. we are humbled. babycini, coming june 2021. and yes, chi chi popped the balloon.
