Tamagotchi is a gem of a cat!! 💎

She is spunky, sweet, hilarious, playful, snuggly, and creative. She can hang with older cats, younger cats, and any human—whether she’s met them before or not. (She’s a hit at game nights!)

Unfortunately, due to no fault of her own, Tamagotchi was returned to us after being adopted as a solo cat. She made it clear she needs another cat in the household, and becomes anxious and vocal without another cat around. So we are seeking a home *with another cat* for our Gotchi girl.

Tamagotchi passed her annual exam with flying colors—proof that FIV+ cats can be just as healthy and sweet as FIV- cats. We know her people and cat sibling are out there. But we need your help finding them!!

In a Crown Heights backyard, mama cat Marimekko had at least three litters in the span of a year. 😭

We TNR’d all her older kittens, but she remained evasive.

It’s heartbreaking to see a familiar feral cat show up pregnant, then disappear, only to come back several pounds lighter. We never want to trap a mama cat if she has kittens somewhere unknown, so it became a waiting game…

Sure enough, 9-10 weeks later, she brought four kittens to the backyard. Her caretakers set a plan in place to trap mama, then all four babies, after getting TNR certified themselves!

We truly got them just in time, as even 2-3 more weeks would have had them well outside the easily specializable window. It took care and patience to convince this crew to come around on pets, treats and playtime, but now Pipo, Takki, Sokka, and Suki are sweet, playful, cuddly, and ready for their forever homes!

At 5mo old, they can be adopted in pairs or to a home with another playful cat. They are great with kids, and will become your best friends in no time. Full bios on Petfinder!

🐾 Patchouli needs a new home! 🐾

Long before the heat and smoke of summer, when the ground was frozen and days were shorter, Patchouli showed up to a feeding spot. Unneutered and cautious, this king of mixed signals trotted right up for food and into a trap just before another snowstorm hit. ❄️

Thanks to his incredibly dedicated foster @foster.cookies, Patchouli has made massive strides to build trust and accept love—and now, with his wonderful foster leaving for travels of her own, he’s ready to make the leap to a new foster or adoptive home where he can continue to feel confident and secure. Patchou needs a patient person who can keep pace with him and help him build that trust, but is ready to meet you with headbutts and chirps once he gets to know you. He loves silvervine twigs and treats, and is great with other cats! 🧡

This Divine trio are ready (more than ready!) for adoption!! You’ve seen them grow up with us, now you can call them yours!

Fingers crossed that Egg Man has a potential home lined up with another young cat for him to befriend, but we’d LOVE to find Edie & Mink a home together?!

We’re also looking for a new foster for the two of them so we can lighten the load for foster mom @jennyleighmayer! She’s done such an amazing job getting them to this point, now someone else gets to enjoy these uber sweet and mushy babies!

How’d she look so bad so fast? 💘

Imelda May was trapped, neutered, and returned a year ago by another rescue org. While she looked healthy from the curb, she started visibly deteriorating over the summer and fall, and by winter, we knew we needed to get her inside.

Of course, that’s easier said than done for a cat who knows a trap and gets fed by multiple caring neighbors, many of whom noted she wasn’t looking so hot… 🫠

With a case like Imelda’s, we had to spend money before learning the extent of all she had going on. She came in snotty, with crunchy breathing and some alarming weight loss, all as a result of (you might’ve guessed from the video) SEVERE dental disease.

Meet Imelda May 🥹🌸✨

The gentle little lady who greeted me the very first time I went to feed the colony cats. She walked up so softly, with those trusting eyes… as if she already knew she was safe for a moment. 🥰

And of course, her charming tabby gentleman friend always waits patiently while Imelda enjoys her meal first 😎🐾

This sweet girl survived the harsh winter on the streets, and recently, thanks to the incredible efforts of @thatsagoodcat she finally got rescued and brought for vet care.

Now Imelda needs something even more important — a foster home. 🏡✨

She is gentle, friendly, calm, and deserves to know what warmth, safety, and love truly feel like after surviving life outside for so long. We are so grateful she survived thru the harsh winter we just had.

Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way 💗

When Dale got left behind outside by his family after they moved away, a neighbor noticed and started caring for him. Despite his own cat allergies, Mr. Nelson provided outdoor shelter, food, and the love that Dale knew he deserved.

Mr. Nelson cared for Dale twice daily for over a year, until @afradite12 struck up a conversation and offered help. They got in touch with us and easily scooped him up to find a second life indoors. 🎉

Dale is one of the many unfixed animals we’ve taken in this spring. He’s safe indoors and will see a vet this week. But he has known the comfort of a real home and has waited far too patiently for his time to return to one! We would love to get him into a sunbeam on a rug in a foster or adoptive home as soon as we can. ☀️

This time last year we set out to trap Old Man Jenkins, a regular at @thatsagoodcat’s feeding spot, as it was clear they were having severe dental pain. We suspected he was a male as he wasn’t been ear tipped but had never been seen to be pregnant throughout the years Nora had been feeding there. Much to our surprise, Old Man Jenkins turned out to be an already spayed female! The fact she had been spayed and not ear tipped lead us to believe that she once had a home, with someone that loved her enough to get her fixed. But she’d been out here for many many years at this point. Her mouth was a mess, incredibly inflamed, potentially cancerous. We were told we could humanely euthanize her and it wouldn’t be the wrong decision, or we could try a two week course of antibiotics to see how her mouth looks after that and go from there. We, the suckers that we are, of course chose the latter option. Now dubbed Billie Jean King came to live at @danaandthecats’s place for what we thought would be her final 2 weeks earth side. But baby girl bounced back, and at her recheck she got what remained of her teeth removed and got the all clear health wise! She was shy to touch, as her time outside had cautioned her to be distrustful of humans. After a stint in foster with @onunez513 where we learnt so much more about her spunky personality, she went to live with @sk.kitties. We were all nervous as SK’s cat Jade was famously, a decisively solo girl, but we were all delightfully surprised to see that Jade was happy to open her heart to exactly one cat, and that is Billie Jean King. After a short lived trial adoption in another home, it was clear that once BJK returned to SK and Jade that she was officially home 🥹 We are so proud of this amazing girl, and while she is still not so into being pet, she is SO into this retirement chapter! We love you BJK!

Meet Poppyseed! She’s another cat who survived after the majority of her Crown Heights colony was poisoned last fall.

This beautiful 1-year-old girl is looking for a loving forever home. Poppyseed is an adorable and expressive girl who loooooves scratches and other cats! She is gentle and learning to trust more every day! She would thrive as your cat’s best friend! Poppyseed does best in a quieter home with another friendly cat to help her continue building confidence and reward her family with the sweetest bond as she blossoms.

Despite everything she’s been through, she has shown incredible resilience and quiet bravery. Although shy at first, Poppyseed now enjoys pets and showed us that she is ready to find her forever family and the love she so greatly deserves!

Poppyseed is spayed, fully vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She is healthy and ready for her next chapter! If you’re looking to give a deserving cat a second chance and watch her grow into her full, loving self, our sweet Poppyseed could be the girl for you!

Introducing Synonym Swirl 🌀This young man showed up to our managed colony just over a month ago, but he was proving very difficult to trap. We knew by the way he was behaving that he was very likely a former pet. He was causing a ruckus in the colony (see slide 4 for a snippet of one of his arguments🤦🏼‍♀️) and we knew he needed to be trapped pronto. We left a trap inside the crawl space zip tied open with food in it so he could get used to its presence and once he proved himself to be trapped trained, we set it for real. This absolutely gorgeous cat was IMMEDIATELY friendly in the trap, and was acting like it was US that took so long to get him. We’re just glad he’s safe with us now. He had a wound on his neck once we finally got him and he has tested FeLV+. We are hoping and wishing for this to be a false positive or just a transient infection that he’ll shed. For now he’s in a cat free foster home lapping up the luxuries that we knew he was destined for all along. We love you Synonym 🤎
