One Word Title Stack Challenge:
I've joined a lovely group that is looking to put the fun back in Booksta. No algorithim nonsense, no pressure, just Oldskool Booksta challenges!

Every week, we are getting 3 challenges to try (or skip... Like I said, pressure free) and the first one I am trying is from Dee @Chapter1.Page1 the #OneWordTitleStack

All of these are books I've read! I had more, but the stack got too wobbly looking, so I tried to keep it aesthetic. I just love a pretty pile of books!

Meet my fur baby, Luna! She’s the snuggliest of my two doggies and is always down to read a book with me.

I also have another dog named Cooper but he prefers to snuggle on his own terms—usually when I’m trying to tie my shoes or do anything that’s not relaxing. 😂 Both of my doggies are rescues from our local shelter and are mixed breeds. ❤️

In a plot twist I never saw coming, my eldest son begged for a leopard gecko for over a year. Reptiles are not typically my thing (ie I used to run screaming away from snakes and basically anything with scales), but we finally caved and now also have one. I’m shocked to say she’s grown on me! Her name is Cosmo. She does bedtime stories with us every single night and if you had told me that one day I would be reading books in my bed with my children and a lizard I would have laughed in your face, but her presence makes my son want to read even more, so here we are. The things we do for our children, amirite?! 😂

Beach PLEASE.

I’m just here soaking up the pages like I soak up the sun. With my toes in the sand, a book in my hand, nothing can wipe this smile off my face.

One of my favorite places to read is by the beach or the pool! When I started reading a few years ago, a trip to Cancun is where I started my binge reading tendencies! All I did was read and rot on the beach, under an umbrella of course 😋⛱️

📚✨ Just like the pages of a book, our disabilities may be visible or hidden, but they shape our narratives in unique and powerful ways. 📖 Let’s turn the pages towards inclusive representation, celebrating every chapter of our lives both seen and unseen.

I have a couple of invisible disabilities that I’ve struggled with for years. I have IBS, that I often feel gets dismissed and minimised as ‘just something everyone has’ but it is debilitating when it flares up. I’ve also had chronic depression/ anxiety and PTSD for over 20 years now.
Most recently as my daughter is starting the process for an autism diagnosis, I’ve come to realise with education that I believe I am also autistic so I’m hoping to join the horrendous waiting lists to get my own assessment too.

Disability representation is so important in books for so many reasons including: to help raise awareness of the disabilities and challenges people experience, so people can feel seen and represented, and to make characters that people will relate too.

These are just a few of the books I have read or am currently reading by disabled/neurodiverse authors.

My Moms' book club has selected Awake by Jen Hatmaker. To be honest, I had not known who she was prior to suggesting this book. I consumed it in literally one day so interested in seeing how she became a Phoenix rising from the ashes of her failed marriage to learn her strength and success. I'm not a religious person which seems funny to say on Easter and during Passover but I did find her book an interesting and relatable read. I am so looking forward to chatting about this book with my friends later this month. Funny to see my favorite candy matching this book cover.
