~ I needed a little retail therapy today, so I ran over to Homegoods because I hadn’t been there since well before Christmas. That store just never disappoints, and it’s really hard to leave there without a bag or four. Even in the middle of January, they’re loaded with all kinds of everything - check out my stories for a peek at some of the ‘goods’😍 ~ can you guess what I just had to have?🤷🏻‍♀️ since it’s Tuesday, and my creative friend Ann @customonlineinteriordesign hosts the pretty tag #underthisclochetuesday I thought I’d stuff some fluffy marshmallow hearts under mine today, in honor of upcoming Valentine’s Day of course! Well, that and also because I really love a good marshmallow. And a good cloche.🙌🏼🙌🏼 Happy Tuesday!🍃🌟🍃

Give•Serve•Love - anyone attend an Andy Stanley @andy_stanley church, or listen online?? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I am lucky enough to live about 5 minutes away from one of his churches.
Yesterday he started a new series called Be Rich, and it was amazing. So inspiring- to give more, serve more, love more, and BE more. Something he said that really resonated with me was this [most of us] are “putting our trust in our riches, instead of our trust in the One who richly provides”. Going into this holiday season, this is just the message I needed to hear. A great reminder to put our trust in the Lord. That when we don’t think we have enough, to trust that He is enough, and He will provide.
Andy also spoke on the point that there are so many things that we hold onto...for far too long. Things that could be of use to someone now, when we just have them piling up in a closet or drawer with the idea that we may need them one day... why not give them now to someone who can make use of them before they are no longer useable.
SO...needless to say, all of this has got me going through my drawers, cabinets and closets clearing house! Reevaluating the things that I think I “need”. Do I need them? Or could someone else really put them to good use?

C H E R I S H the kitchen table.

the kitchen table is where life’s daily drama is played out. Couches will come and go, but the kitchen table usually remains, for years. It’s easy for us to cherish our kitchen tables; love just happens there, step by step, day by day.

We have an open concept in our house. I really wanted to do something different on the ceilings when we were renovating. It had popcorn ceilings (phew! 😅)
·
My first choice was reclaimed wood but our budget didn’t allow for that, at the time. So, we opted for tongue & groove pine and coffered ceilings.
·
Inside the coffered area in the dining room, we stained the boards a warm grey to add some character and break up the room a bit.
·
After 4.5 years, I still haven't gotten tired of it. I call that a WIN! 🤣 If I ever do get tired of it, it’s a simple fix. 👌🏼😜 I can just paint it white to match the rest of the house!

That black, thin metal suitcase with blue and cream paper lining was filled with the only belongings my Great-Grandfather had when he traveled from Palermo, Italy to New York City when he was 19 years old. Can you imagine? I have always loved history. I have always been drawn to the past. Last weekend I spent hours with my parents on @ancestry researching our family tree. Some unanswered questions were answered and some remain a mystery. There is something so exciting in that. Who are the people behind the photos? Do you ever research your family history?
