Kid birthday parties and a writing retreat by a lake and visits with friends and so many delicious books and coffees and summertime cherries. This feels like everything we need.

Spent last night celebrating @olivialanebooks on her pregnancy with 15 other members of our critique group that we’ve kept running since March ‘23, almost two years now. The same group that celebrated me and another group member on our impending babies last fall. The same group that has had two self-run in-person retreats and a third in the works. The same group that meets for sprints and has numerous group chats going at any one time for buddy reads or events or articles we’ve found.

I’m so thankful for the women and the lessons and the self discovery that @wwts.alumni has brought to my writing world, and I feel so lucky to have such a community. We champion each other’s successes and console the disappointments. We talk about books and children and job stresses. Each is an incredibly talented writer in her own right to boot, and I have no doubt I will have a shelf full of their books someday.

All of that to say, what a beautiful little circle we have and I’m very thankful for it and them. Congrats again to you Olivia and I can’t wait to meet little critique baby number 3! 🫶🏻❤️✨

🏔️ Triple M Retreat - 2024 🏔️

My family thought I was a little crazy last year when I decided to fly across the country to meet 19 strangers I met on the internet. But that retreat was just the beginning and I’ve gotten to know this group of writers even better over the past year.

They have helped cheer me on even when my story was barely on the page. They have guided me through the messiness of revision drafts to help my story shine. They are my number one fans and the ones that I can’t wait to celebrate with when our books hit shelves and find our readers.

I loved spending this week with you all talking stories and Twilight! Thank you for helping me figure out my giant plot hole and making me feel safe with you so I could let my weird side out. 😆 Hang on tight spider monkeys, we have so many adventures left ahead and I can’t wait to see where they take us! 🖤

Transitioning back to regular life after a week with these incredible women has been a challenge. And yet I’ve written more since I got on the plane heading home than I’d written in the month prior.

Spending a week with a house full of inspiring women who champion each other’s work is the best medicine for most things 😍

I love you guys and I can’t wait for Retreat 2025! 🥳

I’m so grateful to @wwts.alumni for bringing so many of us together 🖤

And of course I can’t forget @gingerhaggerty_ @madeleinefinleywrites @gold_gilded_pages @n.k.blackwood @laura_cacace who weren’t able to make it this year but were with us in spirit 🥰

flying across the country to meet a bunch of strangers I met online definitely gets 1st place as the craziest thing I've ever done, but I am so glad that I did it. every part of this trip was magic, from the book exchange on the first morning to the game of charades on the last night. I will forever be grateful to #wwts for connecting me with this amazing group of writers. being around so many other people so passionate about writing and story was life changing. I miss you all and I'm so happy I got to meet every one of you, I can't wait to read all of your stories ❤️❤️❤️

We still exist in that big house in the mountains.
In a parallel universe where we spend all day sharing stories, debating characters, cooking each other meals, enjoying craft talks, engaging in heart to hearts, throwing suits on for jacuzzi nights, and baring our souls with a group of women who all have one magical thing in common—we love to dream on paper

“I am a witch, and story is my magick.”

One of my favorite mantras from @adrienneyoungbooks’s workshop Writing with the Soul really gets to the heart of the matter - there is story, and magick, in all of us. It is up to us to let it out, set it free, follow the flow and ride the wave of inspiration.

(Ok, there were some mixed metaphors in there, but they all apply.)

In every witchy story I adore, the end lesson is that the magic is in YOU. It’s your soul, your birthright, your energy.

For all my writer friends starting #nanowrimo with me tomorrow, I wish you luck and love and the ability to follow your magick wherever it leads you. ❤️🫶🏻 Happy Halloween!

One of my favorite keepsakes of all time. When we were on our writing retreat in Asheville. NC, @aserendipitousjumble and I bought the same book at the @battery_park_book_exchange and Mia had the wonderful idea to have everyone on the retreat sign our copies 💚
.
I cried a River of tears when I read the sweet message when I got home. I can’t believe I get to be apart of this writing community.

It’s been a week since I came down from that magical mountain and it still feels like some kind of dream.
Living together with 18 other writers for a week- where we wrote, brainstormed, laughed and cried- was amazing. I knew it was going to be fun, but I had no idea how life-changing it would be as a writer and as a person.

I came to the retreat pushing my WIP across the midpoint and left with a deeper trust in myself as a writer and my story.

Thank you to all the other Mages. You all are endlessly inspiring.
I can’t wait for next year!
