A remarkable new arrival for Dublin: ‘DJinn’, a powerful monumental sculpture by artist Bharti Kher, brought to the city by The Form Foundation.

Kher describes the work as an “energy centre” around which everything revolves. The playful yet powerful figure has an enormous bunch of bananas in place of a head.

Originally crated for a solo exhibition at the YSP (curated by Clare Lilley) this installation is a significant moment for public art in Dublin: an international contemporary work made available for everyday encounter, conversation and imagination beyond the gallery walls.

Congratulations to The Form Foundation for bringing such an evocative and ambitious sculpture to the city.

Harriet ‘Moses’ Tubman - the great, American slavery abolitionist and social justice activist. Not only did she survive her own escape from the tyranny of slave life but she went on to complete 13 mission rescues, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known collectively as the Underground Railroad.
Her legend lives on - giving hope and inspiration to generations to come!

Tubman features as one of the bronze heads in the ‘Ruin of Giants’ exhibition at Trinity Campus East. Tomorrow (Sat 23 May) I am hosting a walk, short talk and collage session as a creative response to the expo. Join me - see details in the link in my bio.

The Bunny Rogers NEOPETS exhibition is live on Dublin's Kildare Street, Dublin 2 for 8 weeks from the 5th of October to 5th December 2022

The artist, Bunny Rogers takes inspiration from online gaming and digital identities from her youth, to create brilliant, bold sculptures for this show-stopping NEOPETS exhibition. Rogers' towering bronze sculptures bear resemblance to ornate European gargoyles, but are brilliantly modernised in Rogers' whimsical and bold artistic style 💫
