My paintings cradle shards of china and glass salvaged from landfill
DM for Custom
Thursday 22 Oct- Mosman Spring Feast 4-10pm

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For years, Deena collected broken things.

Fragments of glass. Pieces of vintage china. Small remnants she found during quiet walks through local parks, often after visits to a psychiatric ward while caring for someone close to her who was living with severe mental illness.

At the time, she didn’t know why she kept picking them up. She simply knew she couldn’t leave them behind.

Years later, those discarded fragments found their way into her art, and into a deeply personal collection named after her late mother, Joy.

Finding Joy is a story of broken pieces, invisible illness, those who care, and the unexpected ways our experiences find their way into what we create.

It was a hot and sticky day but it was so lovely to be back at @mosmanmarket for the first time this year. Lovely to see so many repeat customers and so lucky to be next to Deena and Mark @the.tiny.inkling.studio Who better to ask to get some greenery for my vases than the artist next to me!? Thanks Deena! 😍 #scrumping #joceramicsaus #luckytolovemyjob💖 #buyingsmallandlocal
