There are some prayers you don’t realize God is answering until you look back.

One year ago, The Well was just an empty building, a lot of construction, and a dream that felt far bigger than me. I signed a lease with no investors or business partners—just a vision, a whole lot of faith, and the belief that our community deserved a place that was about so much more than fitness. I prayed this would become a place where people felt seen, loved, and like they belonged.

I never could have imagined what this first year would hold.

Three months after opening, my mom—my best friend—went on hospice. Sixty days later, she was gone. I was grieving the biggest loss of my life while leading a team, working full time, planning a wedding, and building a business. There were mornings I cried before unlocking the doors and days I wondered if I had anything left to give.

But every single time, this community carried me. My staff stepped in. Our members prayed for me, hugged me, checked on me, and reminded me why this place mattered. Looking back, I don’t think I was just building a community for others. I think God was building one for me long before I knew I’d need it.

Today, just before our first birthday, The Well was recognized as a Top 3 finalist by Memphis Health + Fitness Magazine for Best Pilates Studio, Best Pilates Instructor, Best Health Influencer, Best Female-Owned Business, and Best Free Community Workout. Those honors mean so much, but they really belong to every person who walked through our doors, every instructor who poured into this place, every member who invited a friend, and every prayer prayed over this studio.

This has been the hardest and most beautiful year of my life. Looking back, all I can see is the faithfulness of God. He has done so much with one simple “yes.”

Happy first birthday, The Well. Thank you for changing my life. 🤍
