Practicing some light painting this week. Thanks to @bg0nzo for letting us use your car for the evening. I think more light painting is in my future, was a fun evening with good company.

Yesterday was about the people.

Today, it’s about their creations.

Because these cars are more than machines. They’re expressions of passion, patience, creativity, and pride.

Every detail tells you something about the person who built it, restored it, loved it, and brought it into this community.

The people are the culture.
The cars are one of the ways that culture speaks.

When you photograph an event, your job isn’t just to photograph what’s in front of you.

It’s to capture the culture behind it.

This was a car show, but it was never just about the cars.

It was about the people who built them, restored them, dreamed about them, and brought them out to share something they love.

The cars tell you what they have.

The people tell you why it matters.

That’s what I’m looking for when I photograph an event.

Not just the pretty things.

The pride.
The community.
The stories.
The people.

Because your photographs shouldn’t just show someone what the event looked like.

They should make them feel what it felt like to belong there.
