Recently I had the privilege of enjoying an art residency in the heart of Surry Hills, Sydney, with @the_____second. The experience was deeply enriching, and creatively clarifying. I look forward to sharing more of my process and stay. My work, created during my time there, was formed from fresco reds, deep chocolate and tea stain, and titled “Time Gently Sleeps.”

As an homage to the space, and in creating the work, I was informed directly by the remarkable architecture and design of the one-time tea factory. Sleeping, painting, reading and watching the light change each morning, and every evening, elicited something very special that found its way onto my canvas and mark-making.

I’m delighted “Time Gently Sleeps,” has found its new home in one so extraordinary, and has so many precious hours ahead yet to witness.

Thankyou to @the_____second for the incredible creative residency in Sydney.
Having friends to eat, stay and be together was a treasured time. The space was so peaceful I didn’t want to leave the building… I watched loads of dancing, drew hundreds of pictures and cried and cried, like I haven’t been able to cry for years.
Thankyou for the generosity, kindness and inspiration, forever grateful.
