"Because of [the proposed NDIS cuts], I lie awake wondering how will I continue to parent my son the way he deserves. I'm not asking someone to raise my child. All I'm asking for [is] tools that allow me to raise him myself." - Fernanda Castro. Hear Fernanda Castro speak at the Sydney/Gadigal Country National Day of Action protest on Saturday 1 August about the many ways NDIS has changed her life, including how it supports her as a parent. We have to stop the cuts, the NDIS Bill must be scrapped! We have to keep fighting before the NDIS Bill returns to the Senate for a vote on 14 August! We need every person who can to call Liberal, National and Independent Senators to tell them to change their vote and BLOCK THE BILL! Go to our Linktree in our bio/comments to find a Calling Guide we have prepared to help you make calls. Keep fighting, keep going! Speak your truths! Video description: Fernanda is standing and speaking into a handheld microphone. She has shoulder-length brown hair with blonde streaks, glasses and a colourful jacket. A service dog is lying down near her feet. Next to her is an Auslan interpreter. Above the video is the text: “Fernanda Castro, Sydney/Gadigal Country rally” Below, captions appear as the video plays.

¡Guau amigos humanos!

Meet Fernanda! • I'm Fernanda and I have low vision, I was declared legally blind the 27th of June of this year. I also have Bell’s palsy. I decided to start this YouTube channel in October 2018. I'm a single full time mum to my son Guillermo, being both roles is tough but I got to do it. My channel contents are cooking and is just me vlogging of my struggling with a child with a communication and speech delay. •

Years of disability-rights activism in the United States have led towards creating an inclusive culture in workplaces. But the discrimination, even if benevolent, still persists, says @amit_dh on #SkinStories at the 🔗 in bio. #SkinStoriesFresher #SexDis . . . #disability #queerness #intersectionality #endthestigma #disabilityawareness #shame #workingwithdisability #disabledisnotinable #disabilityisnormal #queerlydisabled #disabilityinclusion #conversations #discrimination #visualimpairment #progressivedisability #secrecy #voices #experiences #expectations #ableism #gender #sexuality Image has white square+pink border. Text: Workplace sensitivity training by HR and an emphasis on creating an inclusive culture in the US workplace shielded me from any outward discomfort that would have arisen due to my visible queerness. To my relief, no one made fun of my ‘feminine’ voice or tried to mimic my hand gestures or made sidelong glances at each other when I spoke. Pink balloon at bottom left.
