Thank you @the_crap_factory for taking care of and building this guitar! I originally brought this guitar to him with a plan. To build something that could play sweet and clean and also reach down into the depths and pull the heaviness out of the ground. Im always excited to pull it out of the case or off the stand and make music! Check out his builds! Thanks again to @c_focus_foto for the awesome pictures!

I want to give a shout out to @the_crap_factory for working on this Epiphone 335 recently. In 2017 I bought it for use as a bench testing guitar since it has coil-tapped humbuckers and could allow me to quickly test pedals and amps with different pickup configurations. While I’ve always liked it well enough, it’s never been my go-to guitar outside of the shop. Trever did some incredible work on this thing and after polishing the frets, making a new nut, installing nicer tuners than the ugly stock ones, and giving it some real attention, I’ve been having trouble putting it down. It’s been a few weeks since he dropped it off and I just keep finding myself excited to play it. It’s a good reminder that even “lower end” guitars can be magical instruments if they’re looked after by folks who take pride in the craft. Give him a follow and see all the cool stuff he does and also make sure as we head into the weekend that you carve out some time to go play your guitar.

While I’ve stopped taking in repair work, once in a while something too cool to turn down will present itself. @the_crap_factory brought this Univox SR-55 in a few weeks ago and it’ll be the next repair project. As with a lot of old gear, this vintage drum machine needs to be recapped, although other ailments could present themselves after digging in. Upon first inspection I was struck with the meticulous wire lacing in this thing. The only other place where I’ve seen such beautifully laced wiring is in Hammond organs. In any case, I’ll make a video of it going through some weird pedals once it’s grooving again. . . #vintagedrummachine #univox #restoration #drummachine #electronics #70svibe #percussion #music #midcentury #analog #analogdrums #groovy #sequencer

It's a double feature tonight with another episode of The "Great 2021 Ugly Cabinet Makeover!" It what is possibly the greatest branding triumph of all time we are delighted to add Trever Smith's stickers from THE CRAP FACTORY!!! I couldn't stop smiling while we were putting these stickers on the cabinet. Trever embodies a passion toward guitars that even some world renowned luthiers would have a hard time matching. His personality, good humor and enthusiasm is evident everywhere on his Instagram page, which I've enjoyed immensely. Follow him @the_crap_factory More so, Trever is one of the friends I've met on Instagram whose interactions I've enjoyed the most because he is so genuine. Trevor, thanks so much for the stickers, they're an awesome addition to the cabinet. I really hope we get to hang someday. You're one of a kind. 🎸 This Cabinet is filling up!  But there's plenty of room for YOUR STICKERS!! (hint, hint) If you're curious as to what this is all about. Sharon decided a few weeks ago to dress up this old unsightly tool cabinet with stickers from fellow guitar related businesses.  YOUR businesses!  So if you advertise your guitar/music related business with stickers as part of your merch, please consider joining our crusade!! Send us your stickers and well send you a little thanks and a shout out!! Let's have a little fun along the way. Stickers can be mailed to: The Guitar Specialist 380 Adams street Bedford Hills, NY 10507 #guitarrepair #guitarrepairshop #guitarspecialist #stickers #stickerproject #guitartech #luthier #luthiersofinstagram #Great2021UglyToolCabinetMakeover
