"The Would Be Goods, Railcard and The High Span." A brilliant gig at The Oast Community Centre, Rainham, Kent, last Saturday night. Here are some illustrations I created afterwards from photos I took on the night. No live sketching, so I could 100% enjoy listening to the great bands....Brill poster designed by @davidfrankum with many thanks to Careful Now Promotions🙂 #livebands #localgigs #theoastrainham #illustrations #sketchbookwork @darrylhartleyart @greensmithi @the_high_span @railcard_band @wouldbegoods @carefulnowpromotions

Come and see "HURRAH! HERE COME... THE HIGH SPAN." At the Nucleus Arts summer exhibition in Chatham 31st July- 1st September. I've been following this brilliant local group for a couple of years now and have produced quite a few live sketches of them at gigs. This piece celebrates the band by surrounding them with Easter Eggs of some of their songs and placing them in a local setting. Can anyone guess where they are? (Sorry, no prizes😀) Anyway, come and see the show if you can and see The High Span play too (not in the gallery though 😁.) Preview 5-7pm 31st July @nucleusarts #localbands #medwaybands #artgallery #Illustration #summerexhibition @the_high_span Special credit to @wolfhowardartist for the reference photo of the band👍

Just over a week to go until The Monochrome Set arrive at Ramsgate Music Hall.

For more than four decades they’ve been quietly influencing generations of indie, post-punk and alternative bands with their uniquely witty songwriting, sharp melodies and unmistakable style. Still as inventive and entertaining as ever, they’re a band that deserve to be seen up close.

We’re also delighted to have The High Span opening the evening.

Tickets are moving steadily and there aren’t many left, so if you’ve been meaning to grab one, now’s the time.

🎟️ Ticket link in bio

See you at the front.
