wandering around Culross for the 100th time. same cobbles, same coffee, different nonsense from Kim + Dad.

me, my dad, and Kim doing our usual Culross loop. The Mercat coffee stop is non-negotiable, the photo stops are constant.

still finding new corners in a place we’ve walked 100 times.

There’s so much to do in Edinburgh, but it also makes a pretty brilliant base for a day-trip adventure.

We’ve pulled together 3 of our recent favourites, all worth the journey and each offering something a little different.

A little history, a little culture, some fresh sea air and, naturally, some very good food along the way.

Where else would you recommend for a day trip from Edinburgh?

TOP TIP - Get an early start and you can squeeze Culross and Elie into the same day. You’ll certainly sleep well afterwards!

Save this one for your next day off or future inspiration.

I found it. The best coffee spot in Culross ☕️✨

The Mercat at The Cross. Proper speciality flat white, sticky ginger cake that lives up to the hype, and you’re sat in the middle of a 400-year-old royal burgh.

This is your sign to do a Fife coffee run.

Is this the best coffee in Culross? I think so. Agree or disagree? 👇

SAVE this for your next trip - you’ll need it.

5 must visit cafes in Scotland ☕️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤎 There’s so many amazing cafes in Scotland but here’s 5 I think you need to visit:

1. @the_mercat the cutest cafe with a home decor shop attached. Staff are so friendly, such a lovely atmosphere and the coffee is delicious.
2. @ottomancoffeehouse voted one of the best cafes in the world and can confirm it lives up to the expectation. They really know their stuff and the coffee is unbelievable.
3. @bostockbakery I think I had the best sandwich of my life from here. All the bakery items look insane you need to visit!!
4. @benledicoffee they do amazing seasonal specials, family run business and the cookies are 10/10
5. @the.piercafe another family run business and honestly the friendliest staff ever. Also probably one of the best cafes with a view in Scotland.

Let me know if you visit and follow for more recommendations ☕️🤎
