Congratulations to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on the launch of its Veterinary Science (DVM) program!

After several years of planning the college has been granted a letter of reasonable assurance from the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education allowing them to begin recruiting students for its first cohort which is scheduled to begin in June 2027. It will be the 2nd professional veterinary medicine program at an HBCU, the first at a public HBCU, and the only one in the state of Maryland. The program will be year-round so that students can complete it in 3 years.

Prospective applicants should monitor the UMES School of Veterinary Medicine website for the official application opening date and instructions.

Why do good people leave vet med? Often, it's not the pay, but feeling underutilized. "I'm glorified kennel help," many techs say. Time to use their full skills. #VetMed #VeterinaryTechnician #AnimalWelfare #VetLife #CareerInVetMed #HealthcareHeroes #EmployeeRetention @jen_vet_tech_teacher @navta_official

Admitting you need help in your 30s was tough. Still a struggle, but progress made. To succeed, givers must learn to receive help. Many of us fight this. #Vulnerability #PersonalGrowth #AskingForHelp #SelfImprovement #Resilience #MindsetMatters #LifeLessons #EmbraceChange @drandyroark

Today the Raptor Team welcomed volunteers from the ✨Pre-Vet Chapter of the National Association of Black Veterinarians✨

These undergraduate students from LSU were guided through avian physical exams and handling techniques. It was our pleasure to educate these bright young minds about the wildlife of Louisiana 🦅

The future of veterinary medicine is bright⭐️

PRELUDE: ORLANDO 🌴☀️🐾

Something new is taking shape…

We’ve officially arrived at Fun in the Sun Grooming Show in Orlando, and before the products hit the table, we had to take a moment to appreciate the new look. 👀

For the first time, we’re unveiling our new NKITA backdrop and tablecloth — a cleaner, bolder setup that represents where NKITA is headed.

This is the Prelude. The quiet moment before the booth comes alive, the conversations begin, the samples start moving, and the real experience unfolds.

🚗💨🐾 CHICAGO ➡️ HERSHEY ➡️ CHICAGO — WHAT A JOURNEY.

We hit the road from Chicago headed to Groom Expo Hershey not knowing exactly what the weekend would bring. Now, heading back home, we’re leaving Pennsylvania with new relationships, great memories, real conversations and another chapter in the NKITA journey.

First, a huge THANK YOU to Barkleigh for welcoming us and giving Team NKITA the opportunity to be part of Groom Expo Hershey. 💚

And a VERY special thank-you to the three ladies who represented Team NKITA East Coast and helped make this weekend happen:

🐾 D’yana Mack — @dyanas_mobile_pet_service
🐾 Ciara Dickinson — @mixxed_clipz
🐾 Cierra — @crazydogworldllc

From helping at the booth and talking products to meeting groomers, capturing moments and simply bringing the energy — THANK YOU, ladies. Team effort all weekend. 🙏🏾💚

And Hershey was about so much more than a booth.

🍩 We started Day One with Duck Donuts and coffee.
🐾 We sampled groomers, vendors and Barkleigh staff.
🎁 We delivered our special VIP packages.
🎥 We captured real testimonials.
🤝 We strengthened old relationships and started new ones.
💚 And we got to spend a weekend surrounded by the grooming community.

Special shout-out to @jaybatistagrooming, @juanitathecreator_ and @groombyharry for the love, conversations and support — and to EVERYONE we met, laughed with, learned from, sampled, photographed or crossed paths with this weekend.

There are too many people and moments to fit into one recap — and that's a good problem to have.

The video starts with us on the road from Chicago to Hershey and ends the same way this chapter does:

Hershey in the rearview mirror. Chicago straight ahead. And NKITA moving forward. 🚗💨🐾

Thank you, Hershey.
Thank you, Barkleigh.
Thank you, Team NKITA East Coast.
Thank you, grooming community.

BUILDING COMMUNITY. ONE RELATIONSHIP AT A TIME. 💚🐾

🐎🔥 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED… AND THEN SHE DOUBLED IT! 🔥🐎

Our good friend and professional groomer Ms. Teyana with @poochoozemobilebaths put the NKITA Groomer Challenge to the test again — this time with TWO HORSES! 😳👏🏾

She started with just ONE NKITA Half-Gallon Groomer Challenge Kit:

🫧 1 oz of NKITA Absolute 50:1 Concentrated Shampoo — designed to make approximately 50+ oz of working shampoo

💧 1 foil pack of our Non-Oily Leave-In Conditioner — just 5 pumps worth of Leave-In

🐎🐎 THE RESULT? TWO HORSES BATHED AND CONDITIONED!

When we created this challenge, we wanted professionals to experience just how far a highly concentrated formula could go. Seeing one tiny 1 oz bottle handle TWO HORSES takes that demonstration to another level.

And think about the potential scale: if 1 oz can handle two horses under these conditions, a gallon contains 128 oz — that's the mathematical equivalent of 256 horse washes at the same usage rate. Even allowing for differences in horse size, coat, soil level and technique, saying a gallon could handle at least 100 comparable horse washes is a very conservative extrapolation from Teyana's demonstration. 🤯🐎

This is exactly why we love putting NKITA in the hands of professionals and letting the real-world results speak for themselves.

A HUGE thank-you to Ms. Teyana and @poochoozemobilebaths for accepting the challenge, documenting it and continuing to show us just how versatile these products can be. 💚
