The fact that less than 2% of veterinarians are black will always baffle me, but that’s why @the_nabv exists

We were honored to welcome members of the National Association for Black Veterinarians (@the_nabv) to the Louisiana SPCA during their annual conference in New Orleans this past June.

As part of their visit, participants embarked on A Journey Through Animal Welfare and Veterinary Medicine at the Louisiana SPCA, exploring how veterinary medicine, animal welfare, and community programs work together to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them. From our Community Clinic and Animal Care teams to Humane Law & Rescue, Behavior & Enrichment, Foster, Volunteer Services, and Adoptions, members experienced the many ways compassionate care makes a difference every day.

Thank you, NABV, for spending part of your conference with us. We loved sharing our mission and hope to see you again soon. 💙🐾 by @the_nabv
