𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵/𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘢𝘨 2️⃣5️⃣ 𝘎𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘵! 🥳

I was tagged by the awesome @padfootpuff and tagged some others. But if you don’t feel like writing this blurb, post a pic feeling your best I will be your hype girl 🫶🏻

📚 When did you start bookstagram?

May 5th 2020. In the beginning I posted every day/ every other day. I still do that but now I also take random breaks.

📚 Why did you start a bookstagram?

I wanted to share my love of reading and connect with people that did the same. For a while I thought about making a booktube channel but felt to nervous.

📚 What inspired your username?

When I made my account it was during the last few weeks of my undergrad and torusari was the school username the uni gave me. I was so used to it I kept it.

📚 What was the first review you posted?

I’ll say my first review was my third post of Chain of Gold where I talked about the ending and shared my theories for the next book about Grace. Looking back at them they sound so crazy.

📚 What’s your fav part of bookstagram?

Everyone here is so nice that I wish I could connect with even more of y’all. I have a small group of people I’m close to on here love you my bookish besties 💋

📚 Bookstagram made you buy…

Bookish merch and books but specifically made me hunt for more special edition, fairyloot, Owlcrate etc edition books. Still looking for owlcrates Our Violent Ends 😂

📚 Favourite booksta tag?

Tags with themes like colours, pop culture, character based. I really like the seasonal tags with prompts. It helps give ideas for photos.

📚 Bookstagram aesthetic:

I joke mine’s organized chaos bc of all the props I put in the photo. Idk if it’s a good thing or not but I like it. What would you describe my aesthetic as?

📚 Recent favs?

My top three at that moment are @authoralymartinez @authornikkiash @authorlacotton . I have so many of their books on my kindle on standby for countless rereads

Rainbow stack challenge 🌈🌈

Thank you for the tag @megschaoticbookshelf this was an actual challenge haha.

I don’t have a yellow or purple book or orange but I tried to find the closest to them, I think it still looks pretty good and quite close.

It’s funny how a flash memory like that will come over me. I always tried not to think about my early life, even the happy times, because it hurts too much to remember it. But now I’m in the house where I lived for the first ten years of my life, and it feels as if the memories are crashing around me.”

🍁𝓠𝓞𝓣𝓓: How did you celebrate new years eve?
.
.
🍁Happy new year! Ughhh I hope 2021 won't be so depressing. At least not a soul will accidentally write 2020 instead of 2021. Then again, didn't Mad Max take place in 2021??
🍁Well anyway, enjoy!

"The Buoyant Breath"

Her eyes were full of splendour,
When she got to realise -
That she can float and rise from the deep sinking abuse of Patriarchy,
She was short-breathed and suffocated
Attempted and Failed
But
On a one fine empowering time she sailed
And "The Buoyant Breath" she took
Made the greatest ratio of space for other feminists.

I just have finished reading this book "The Doors of Perception" and " Heaven and Hell" by Aldous Huxley.

Sorry my ignorance, but this book was so confusing and boring 😔 ... Rate ⭐

... I even like books whose subject involves (in) awareness, mental health and evolution and psychotherapy, but I confess that this is not my type of reading. I read this book to participate in a challenge 😏 and I also read some super interesting reviews about it, but I didn't like it 😥.

In "The Doors of Perception", his experience after took mescalin, some mechanisms about drugs relation with neuro-biological affects and biological interation, and it brings themes envolving arts and religions. And, in "Heaven and Hell", he also talks about visionary and mystical experiences, as well as history and religion-spiritual themes.

... maybe, if I read it later, in a few years, I can change my mind 🤞

Sinopse 📚📖
One spring morning in 1953, Aldous Huxley took four-tenths of a gramme of mescalin, sat down ans waited to see what would happen. When he opened his eyes everything, from the flowers in a vase to the creases in his trousers, waa transformed. He describes his experience with breathtaking immediacy in The Doors of Perception. In its sequel Heaven ans Hell, he goes on to explore the history and nature of mysticism. Still bristling with a sense of excitement ans discovery, these illuminating and influencial writings remain the most fascinating accounts of the visionary experience ever written.

As only he can, Aldous Huxley explores the mind's remote frontiers and the unmapped areas of human consciousness. These two astounding essays are among the most profound studies of the effects of mind-expanding drugs written in this century.

QOTD: Tell me, is there a book that you think about read again in a while and maybe change your opinion?

📚🤞📖🤔📚🤞📖🤔📚🤞📖🤔

This is a lot later than I usually post but who cares. I was thinking of posting this tomorrow instead but decided against it, not bc it won’t be Wednesday but because I want the lovely people I tagged to have a chance to post if they want to without feeling rushed. Just because it’s Thursday shouldn’t dictate if we want to post a pink stack 😂 It’s not like I only post a map pic when it’s Monday. So I’ll post today and if anyone I’ve tagged wants to post their stack tomorrow I’ll wait here in anticipation 🥰⁣
⁣
Hope you like my pink stack and the books I’ve included. I’ve also added some products I use. I love anything with rose water, Garnier where you at? I’m here for a sponsor deal 🙋🏻‍♀️😂⁣
