POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My dad introduced me to bow hunting when I was 7 years old….gave up lots of hours of his own hunting and time and took the time to teach me how the woods work and who put them here for me. Yesterday we were able to experience me taking my biggest buck so far together with dad behind the camera. We’ve had this buck for two years and named him pope. A lot of summer time was spent setting this one arrow release up. One that won’t be forgotten any time soon. Video and full story of “Pope” coming soon. Thank you Jesus & God Bless Bow Hunting!

Shot my @mathewsinc V3X29 side by side with my Lift 29.5 and #mathewsarc 30 & 34. Let me just leave you with this. Can the V3X still get it done. Sure can. But do the improvements make the shooting experience better in the new bow? Well I’ll leave that up to you.

Be sure to give it a try first before you say no!

Better late than never, right?

Now that deer season is in full swing, I’ve been reflecting on last year’s Saskatchewan hunt. We missed flights that caused us to lose a full day of hunting, saw very few deer, and froze our butts off all week. A recipe many people would call a failed trip.

Instead, it ended up being what I consider my favorite hunting experience to date.

What if a successful hunt isn’t measured by the deer you may or may not see?

I remember texting Lee before the trip that seeing deer would just be a bonus—and the end result couldn’t have proved that more true. The friendship I developed with Alex in the blind, as we talked about life, struggles, and Jesus, led to some of the most intentional conversations I’ve had with another man in a long time.

By the end of the hunt, I realized I wasn’t bummed about not having an opportunity at a big deer. I was bummed that I may never get the chance to share a blind with Alex or camp with Lee and Rigsby again.

I looked forward to getting back to camp, hearing about their walks with Jesus, and getting to know each of them on a deeper level. What you see from these guys on YouTube is exactly who they are behind the camera. Genuine, humble, and truly some of the easiest guys to be around.

These guys aren’t just people I got to hunt with. They’re friends I hope to have for a lifetime.

I’ll forever be grateful to the @seek1productions crew for giving me the opportunity to experience this trip. And if this is what a “failed” hunt looks like, I’d go on another one with these guys any day.
