“Embodied Gestures” Performance and book presentation by @enrique_tomas_artist and @theacousmaticproject

Venue: Die Presse Science Workshop Lounge, Messe Wien, Halle D

Date: 14 November 2025, 15:10–15:50

At the „Buch Wien“ Vienna book fair and festival, there will be a performance and book presentation of the book “Embodied Gestures” on 14 November 2025, 15:10-15:50.

TU Wien’s scientific open access publisher, TU Wien Academic Press, will present its new releases at the “Buch Wien” book fair and festival for the first time this year. In addition, there will be a special programme highlight on Friday, 14 November 2025 at 15:10.

A performance by Thomas Gorbach (TU Wien) and Enrique Tomás (Tangible Music Lab, University of Arts Linz) will reveal the central finding of “Embodied Gestures, opens an external URL in a new window” – for listening is always partly shaped by embodied cognitive simulations.

After the performance, the book “Embodies Gestures” will be presented, which documents the results of the scientific research project of the same name, carried out by the editors, Enrique Tomás, Thomas Gorbach, Hilda Tellioğlu and Martin Kaltenbrunner.

Echoes Around Me Festival 2025
Illusionary Listening

Performing auraL allure within the @viennaacousmonium, for this year, a field of forty two loudspeakers unfolding layers of space.

Alongside, I presented the Hybrid Audio Diffusion System (HADS) — exploring proximity and distance through simultaneous headphone-speaker immersion.

These two approaches, though different in design, share the same pursuit:
to reveal how sound can exist both inside and beyond the listener.

Grateful for all the Festival and everyone who joined in these days of focused listening.

✨ Tonight at Echoes Around Me - Illusionary Listening ✨

We are looking forward to the premiere of Enrique Mendoza (MX/AT):
🎶 auraL allure

A voice, whispered, multilingual and transformed, becomes material and metaphor - a work that blades time, memory and perception.
