Last two weeks of August: market run, plum kuchen for Thea, Birthday cookies!, 🙏, also 🙏, also 🙏🙏, blackberry scones, found this rose petal meringue from a month ago in my top oven, Katie’s moving cookies, Luke and Louis!, pear and beetroot, didn’t taste great, my mum brought this magic rose hip tea to my desk, Charlie’s puttanesca at 11.19am, focus meant for wine but came out better, torn nectarine and plum breakfast to go 🥰

Thea, thank you 🥰🥰 I’m actually feeling a bit giddy from being described as nonchalant in your intro

I read an awful lot of awesome writers on Substack, so I thought, why not start a monthly roundup of the words that have resonated most with me?
Always food, philosophy and life. Not necessarily posted this month, not really any order to it, just writers that you should check out!!

@theaev’s custard buns are the definition of pumpkin spice and everything nice.

These buns bring the best flavours of pumpkin pie with a lighter, more breakfast-like feel.

Thea’s top tip: if you can’t find a small pumpkin, use half a butternut squash. Both give warmth and comfort – just the ticket for a chilly weekend morning.
