I've been running workshops with @theamberfoundation since 2024 but times are hard when it comes to charities and community groups! I am reaching out to local folk to try and support raising a few quid in our local community to support me to continue to offer these important sessions to the residents at The Amber Foundation.

This is a great charity supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Those of us who have never experienced housing insecurity are incredibly lucky and a couple of pounds will continue to support the sessions.

These sessions support team work, coming together, communication skills and focus on safe and healthy emotional expression.

Happy to chat about the sessions if you are interested!

Link for fundraising is here and link also in bio. If you can't donate please share.

Our Head of Business and Enterprise, Daisy, was back in the training room this week, working with young people at the Amber Foundation as part of RIFT Social Enterprise’s Kent Youth Employment programme.

Daisy delivered our Introduction to Self-Employment course, taking the group through the building blocks of starting a business, from developing an idea and understanding customers, through to pricing, costs and profit.

One of the highlights was our £20 Business Challenge which certainly got people thinking and debating about what they could create from just £20.

It is exactly what these sessions are designed to do. Introduce self-employment as a realistic option, build confidence and encourage young people to start thinking differently about what they could create for themselves.

We have fully funded places available for young people in Kent until October 2027.

If you work with young people in Kent and would like to explore how RIFT Social Enterprise could support them, we would love to hear from you.

It's Monday and before we get too caught up in the new week here's a look back at last week in a selection of Entertainingly Different snaps.
On Tuesday Rob Pudner led a circus themed session for the Okey Memory Cafe (he's pictured here with the fabulous volunteers). On Tuesday he popped on his Ringmaster's attire again for his regular visit to Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust) Don't forget tn join them for their fundraising event this coming Saturday from 12.00pm.
On Thursday evening he was delighted to be a guest of Rhys; The Nightchurch Pianist at his fabulous concert in Crediton. On Saturday morning he paid a visit to Okehampton Library in the guise of Major Lee Wild and yesterday he was joined by his boyJasper at Toddler Fest at The BIG Sheep Family Attraction.
He finished the weekend with a.rather damp eleven mile run which was totally spurred on by the overwhelming generosity and kinds words he has received since making his big announcement Friday.

Blown away by the chat today…the crew, somehow all dressed in black, turned up, put in some graft and then …over flapjacks, some with raspberries 🙂, ..we discussed property ownership & meaning, capitalism (look out for BlackRock and Vanguard …apparently), fear, lies and corruption in today’s world 🌍…

What holds us back…Stops us even trying at times? Are we exploited, given few choices? Feeling the odds are just too stacked against us?

Who doesn’t want to believe NO!?💪💯

Comparisons can be the thief of joy but would we be wrong if we saw this world as an unfair place where those with the least can be exploited and downtrodden?

Let’s keep talking… & thank you 🙏🏽
@theamberfoundation for all you do here.
And those who seemingly rule the world take note 📕…change is inevitable. 🫶🤝

Casey @b_arts_co and Tom @drum_and_ink have been working with the residents and staff at @theamberfoundation over the last few weeks to design and paint a mural in their garden. The underpinning concepts and core graphic elements of the mural were explored in a few group sessions and then we all spent time painting together, listening to 80s music, dancing and chatting together.

This mural represents “community”, “inclusivity” and “self-determination” which the we all believe are essential for us humans to flourish.

Special thanks to our lovely friend Emma Bennett for hosting and being an awesome team mate! Thanks to @tinybeegle for technical advice and encouragement.
