Accountability, accountability, accountability! @johnnyvitale runs @vitalebros and @oversprayartspace so he’s a busy guy. You’ve seen his art all over St. Pete! But he committed to health and fitness, and he’s been consistently training. And it shows! If you too are busy, but have big fitness and health goals, you know who to reach out to! #theathleticus #visitgulfportfl #stpetefitness #personaltraining #floridafit #localgym #fitfam #accountability #artist #streetart #localartist #graffitart

Hey guys, this is Luke at the Athleticus with a trainer tip of the day. Today we’re going to talk about a few steps on how to do a bench press correctly so you can get the most power possible and feel the motion in your chest and not in your shoulders. 1. Make sure your feet stay firmly pushed into the ground during the entire set without bouncing up and down 2. Make sure hands are evenly lined up by measuring a thumbs width out from the change in texture on the barbell 3. Think about tucking your upper back and shoulders underneath you while keeping your shoulders from shrugging up throughout the whole set 4. As you start each rep make sure your elbows are pulled slightly in and aim to hit the barbell at the middle/lower part of your chest then reverse the motion up while keeping your chest poked up to squeeze your pecs. 5. Make sure you take 1 big breath in through your nose during the eccentric phase of the rep (way down) and one big breath out through your mouth during the concentric phase (way up) Comment with requests for a step by step on different exercises!! #theathleticus #gym #lifting #health #fitness #gulfport #localgym #liftweights #personaltraining #getfit

Being in survival mode is necessary sometimes, but it’s exhausting and not sustainable. This week I got back to @theathleticus to lift some heavy stuff and I’m already feeling better #survivalmode #liftheavyshit #momlife #selfcare #hurricane #florida #gulfport
