@littleyarrow and I are both mothers of 3 with endometriosis sharing our clinical expertise.

Key points:
1. Test your levels regardless of if you’re taking an omega 3 supplement or not! If you’re not, great- let’s see if it’s doing what it’s supposed to!

2. Omega 3 is SO important for both male and female preconception, for optimising EGG & SPERM quality. Especially when we’re dealing with endo.

3. Omega 3 is important for reducing the risk of preterm birth. Wow! We can ensure mothers are nutritionally replete to reduce this risk. A no brainer!

4. Correlation between low DHA & learning/behavioral challenges in children. Your baby’s growing brain NEEDS DHA.

5. Reducing the risk of postpartum depressive symptoms

6. Spotlight is on DHA in the maternal health space but EPA is very important too as it assists with the transference of DHA across the placenta.

7. Omega 3 is bound to polyphenols in nature. When omega 3 is being manufactured the polyphenol and omega 3 are unbound. This makes it very easy for omega 3 to go rancid. Our state of the art formula incorporates polyphenols from olives to improve the bioavailability of omega 3, as it significantly improves the oxidative stability. It doesn’t go rancid. Taking an omega 3 with polyphenols ensures it reaches your cell membranes and can be utilised by your body. If you’re taking an omega 3 without polyphenols chances are it’s oxidizing and not being utilised effectively.

The goal Omega 6:3 ratio is 3:1 OR LESS.

You might be getting enough sleep but not feeling truly rested. This is because physical rest isn’t the only type of rest you need.

Understanding different types of rest is important for holistic wellbeing.

1. Physical Rest
This includes passive and active forms. Passive rest includes sleep and napping, allowing the body to repair. Active rest involves gentle exercise, massage and stretching, which reduces muscle tension and improve circulation.

2. Mental Rest
Our minds need regular breaks to function optimally. This involves stepping away from cognitive tasks and allowing the brain to reset. Techniques such as deep breathing exercises and spending time in nature can quiet the mind, reduce mental fatigue, improve clarity and concentration.

3. Emotional Rest
This requires us to be authentic and express our feelings. It involves creating safe spaces for emotional release and practicing self-compassion. Engaging in therapy, journaling, and fostering healthy relationships can help manage stress and improve emotional resilience.

4. Spiritual Rest
This nurtures our sense of purpose, allows us to find meaning, align with our values, experience peace and fulfillment. It is achieved through connecting with God through prayer, meditation, practicing gratitude, and connecting with like-minded people.

5. Sensory Rest
Sensory overload is common in our modern world. Sensory rest involves reducing stimuli from screens, noise, and bright lights. Taking breaks from devices, spending time in quiet environments, being in natural light, wearing blue light blocker lenses can help soothe the senses.

6. Social Rest
This is about recognising when to step back from social interactions to recharge. It involves setting boundaries and spending time with supportive, understanding individuals. This helps maintain healthy relationships and prevents burnout.

7. Creative Rest
This involves engaging in activities that inspire and rejuvenate, such as appreciating art, listening to music, or exploring nature. It allows our creativity to blossom and prevents burnout.

I’m all about healing your body so you can enjoy foods you like in moderation- YES, even with endometriosis.

🧁When you have a sweet treat, take into account the following:

1. Don’t eat sweets on an empty stomach. This will cause your blood sugar levels to surge followed by a crash which will leave you feeling sluggish and hungry more quickly.

2. Eat veggies first because they are high in fibre and can prevent a blood sugar surge- so have your sweets for dessert after a meal with lots of vegetables.

3. Have a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a shot of warm water before your sweets. This can help reduce your blood sugar surge as it improves your insulin sensitivity.

4. Going for a brisk walk for about 10 minutes after you eat your sweets can also help with reducing a blood sugar surge.
